Me too, good thing I got my tax return back yesterday and it was a bit higher than I was expecting

Now we have a release date for SO5 and FFXV. Waiting on those Setsuna, Persona 5 and Nier Automata release dates and my year is pretty much sorted as far as gaming goes...

I think this demo is going to turn people off, lol. Its just a super bare bones tech demo showing effects, and even then the IQ was terrible. Noctis during that Iron Giant fight was just nothing but jaggies.

yeah the demo was a lot more limited than the other one. and while I can deal with the fuggo image quality and even the bad framerate, what i can't handle is the slight input lag. the last demo had the same fucking problem and it's something they NEED to fix. you can't play an action game if the controls aren't responsive ffs

If the game is good then I don't see why it couldn't. I've long stopped listening to what internet form goers think of the so called masses as if they aren't among them.

If the game is good, has great word of mouth, and is hella marketed then yeah it can easily do it.

Open world RPGs are a thing and this games scale looks great. The aesthetics are one thing but I think this is far more restrained and netrual then any other jrpg. Also there's plenty of people out there with complex tastes, I'm not going to try and lump people into categories. I also think XV could easily appeal to more then a few audiences. The supposed "bro" gamer is not the only type that plays games and people aren't so rigid in their tastes.

I'm not playing the demo. Demos for long RPGs never do it for me.

Could it make it? I have no fucking idea. I'm bemused that they need it to sell that much. Turns out having (what appears from the outside to be) the worst god damned project management hurts really bad.

Then again, they're still around, so they either had a big warchest or other areas and games are doing really well for them.

Why wouldn't you? This new demo is a standalone story/prequel thing. Its contents won't be in the main game.

The demo was awful except the last fight. I kept thinking "what the fuck is this shit???" Really disappointing considering I was super excited to get home and play it - which is pathetic in its own right I guess.

The IQ is horrendous too. Everything is just... blurry? Oh well. Luckily that battle at the end was the shit.

They still have a few months left and I read they aquired some tech to help them get the FPS up, but I don't know if it's already being utilized.

Also unsure if that would helpt the controls.

If they make a PC version and market it to China and SE Asia (which seems to be a growing market for Japanese games) then yeah this'll definitely hit 10 mil.

Would be interesting if the final game ended up being nothing like that demo and was instead a lot more linear when it comes to pacing and progression.

FFXV is gonna get a fucking boat load of DLC no matter what. Gotta make money somehow.

All of that fucking time spent on a new game engine and you get PS2 looking assets while the game's framerate mirrors early PS3 games.

There used to be a feeling of sadness over how inept Japanese publishers/devs were in the 360 and ps3 gen when it came to technical shortcomings. Nowadays, not having your shit together gets you no pity.
