RPS had a litte more:
Quote
Unlike most inevitable sequels, there’s no clear blueprint for Dawn of War 3 due to the first two games being so different. From the release, it sounds as if Relic are aiming to honour both, saying that the game “combines the epic scale of Dawn of War, with the customization and elite heroes of Dawn of War II.” It’s not clear what that really means, but base building is making a return after being excised from the sequel.

“Dawn of War III immerses players in the escalating brutality of galactic warfare, where they will lead elite hero units and colossal armies to victory, or oblivion,” continues the press release. I wouldn’t normally quote this stuff but it suggests Relic might be attempting to capture the differences in scale that often get lost when WH40K is translated to a top-down strategy game. “Powerful super-walkers will tower over the front lines as screen-shaking assaults blister the battlefield in an all-out, over-the-top spectacle worthy of the iconic Games Workshop® Warhammer 40,000 universe.”

I hope they dont go too hard on base building n other such rts things. i liked 2 a lot more for being so Soul Blighter about it all.

(the dawn of war cgis have always been cool lookin but it's a bit jarring how weightless everything is and how every character seems to have 10l of strawberry jelly in them, just aching to burst. :doge )

yea I was in the camp that preferred the hero system of 2 over 1s base building so I'm hoping they get the balance right.

I prefer the first game, but DoW2 is still fantastic.

Not to be an :expert, but bolts are mass reactive ammunition, which is why you get the strawberry jelly thing so much.

I used to think the weightlessness was a Games Workshop commandment (the Ultramarines feature film also had this) but the movement in the Space Hulk games was very plodding.

Step into a brutal battle between three warring factions.

Downgrade.

Quote
With war raging and the planet under siege by the armies of greedy Ork warlord Gorgutz, ambitious Eldar seer Macha, and mighty Space Marine commander Gabriel Angelos, supremacy must ultimately be suspended for survival.

Quote
Take control of towering war machines and tip the balance of battle in your favor with the biggest characters in Dawn of War history. Turn the tide with the mighty Imperial Knight (Space Marine), the clattering Gorkanaut (Ork), or the haunting Wraithknight (Eldar).

My sincerest apologies for sowing hype by misidentifying the knight as a titan. Knights.  :zzz :zzz :zzz

Dawn of War is famous for its epic action and those immense clashes are back - but now they're off-the-scale. Wage war with massive armies across violent volcanic terrain or onboard battlecruisers travelling fast through space.

Take your battle plans to another level by deploying powerful collectible elite squads, each boasting their own special abilities and bonuses that will help you unlock and develop new attacking strategies to conquer your foes.

Your army will wreak havoc in online co-operative mode. Join the multiplayer community and forge new alliances - then turn the tables on your new 'friends' as they become foes in explosive, chaotic and competitive maps.

So Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, well at least it was the good Dawn of War I game.

Learn what makes each force formidable through alternating missions. You'll soon come to understand the combat advantages of Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar and the rules of a universe with no heroes or villains… only war.

PSYKE(r), it's just going to be Winter Assault 2.0. :zzz :zzz :zzz
