It's funny, but also true that these days it seems Diablo and arpgs in general are having outsized influence on the design of shooters like Destiny and the Division.

It's also funny how far D3 has come since launch. Such a good game now, even with some flaws (gear dependent rather than skill dependent, etc)

It also looks like Blizzard is planning to skip a 2nd expansion in favor of an entirely new game, which I'm fine with- after RoS launch, we've essentially got an expansion's worth of content in various patches for free- several new areas, Kanai's cube, new sets and items, etc. It will be interesting to see how much attention D3 continues to get if that's the case.

Man I picked up D3:UE for 20 bucks used -- I don't think I've ever gotten better value when purchasing a game

Loved the game since day 1. The combat & skill systems + the insane level of polish were so good that I never cared about the flaws.

Can't wait to see how they'll change things up with D4

I remember how shitty the drops were in the beginning. Making it past the skeleton king and still never saw a yellow for my character. At one point, I was using a common weapon because it was better than the blue I was using.

On average, you'd get like 2 legendaries per playthrough. Maybe one of them would even be for your class.

diablo 1 isn't available digitally and iirc it doesn't work with battle. net anymore. THAT'S what i mean by updating it
