The funny thing was in GoW3 the worst part of the game was trying to bring human emotions and interactions to Kratos and his daughter. Like it almost single handly was the plot device that made the game awful.

To be fair though I'll give a new reboot a fair chance to have actual characters. In GoW3 it didn't work because it was being shoehorned into the end of a story that was comically childish about KILLING THINGS VIOLENTLY. Maybe the reboot will have a different tone.

KI is the only UWP I haven't had problems with. Quantum Break is a mess (so I avoided that) and Forza 6 Apex kills my controller's drivers for some reason and has made me completely swear off UWP because of it.

So they are slowly getting better. By the time those games come out UWP should be okay.

Think Real-Time Magic the Gathering. You build an "arsenal" of spells to use in real-time.

You'll probably think it's "boring" from the gameplay of that, but the real fun of it is the X-box Live (and LAN hopefully they keep that in the PC port) gameplay where you get 2v2 gameplay and have someone going around erasing the skills at their "deck" base with the purple skills and someone destroying an environmental object that they placed a world-skill on that nullifies something or buffs/nerfs certain skills and people can't get it anymore because the game wasn't designed for that tactic (hopefully they fix that?).

Wait, I just realized Spiderman isn't Sucker Punch but Insomniac...uhhhh wtf. I mean I like Insomniac but an open-world superhero game sort of makes a lot of sense for Sucker Punch and it's been a couple of years since their engine test Second Son came out. Meanwhile what I guess the closest thing at Insomniac to Spiderman is Sunset Overdrive? Well, hopefully it's good.

Oh and RE7 looks pretty awful. Just looks like they can't make a good RE game to save their life since RE5 (which was already a step down) so they're trying to copy PT this time but instead of skillful suspense it looks like trashy RE horror yawn. Only way I would care is if they got Mikami to come back and do something like this.
