I think an argument could be made that the initial volley was justified. Yes, Yatim was a knife-wielding threat, but yes, he was also mostly contained. Tough situation.
That pause and then second volley of shots, though? That (probably rightly) sunk Forcillo. Can't believably justify that. There's no threat there.
Now, does that make the charge of attempted murder the right one? Damned if I know. The jury basically acquitted him of murder for the shots that actually killed him, but convicted him of attempted murder for the shots fired after Yatim was essentially already dead? Well, from a certain perspective it makes sense, but it also makes me go cross eyed thinking about it.
