Solar Crisis, shit, I kinda like that movie.
its like a pre-Star Wars studio science fiction film that somehow got made in 1990. Its got lots of great (and endearingly crappy) special effects.

Fun fact about Solar Crisis: it was based on a Japanese novel and was co-produced by a group of Japanese companies
