Like I've always said this game really fucks people up.... look at this shit people have dealt with.

People say they can moderate the game and everything and that's fine. But is even the risk of the possibility of this happening to you while moderately playing even worth it to play the game? It is sooooooooooooo fucked up!

Note that folks in those testimonials talk about raiding. Play it solo, folks; don't join a raiding guild; and don't raid! You can get close to top-tier EQ from PvP/Battlegrounds and even solo/PUG play, now. Raiding is a waste of life.

I actually like raiding a lot. It's not even about gear as I never PVP'd on my lock (outside of a little Crossroads world PVP) and would often run 20 mans when I didn't need anything. It is a horrible time sink, though.

edit: A good 3 hour BWL run is about the most fun I have in-game. However, certain parts of raiding genuinely suck. Farming mats for necessary buffs (late AQ40, Naxx) and Molten Core can kill any enthusiasm you have for the game.

My main problem with mmorpgs has always been that they just seemed like a chat client with a pretty gui. I mean, the people who play religiously or even semi-regularly just seem like they're replacing genuine social interaction with the interweb. Kind of sad, really.

It's a living online world that is the draw, but the game itself is on the low end of Blizzard's catalog. I hope there is some sort of MMO crash so that someone can fix the shite gameplay and carrot on a stick mentality of these games. I hope for it like I hope for a FPS crasha nd reinvention.

Every genre Blizzard has done, they have made the best game in the genre. If you think WoW truly sucks, that may be for some people, but it's still the best MMORPG out there. And I don't know if blizz actually took my suggestion, or if they really needed to even hear it before assuming it themselves... but they're going to have something like war3-style ladder for arena. They needed to make it, because now there's that drive for soemone to get #1. That's what will keep people addicted.... the whole raiding/guild drama thing was too boring for some.

Let's see. I'm averaging about 14 posts per day here, and 8 over at gaf. So 22, which is not a lot compared to the people that REALLY who have no life: your PDs, Shakes, etc. Then you factor in that a lot of them play WoW on top of their excessive forum going... I think you see where I'm going here. Also, I don't go to Dragon*Con or get wet over the release of a buggy new OS. Burn!
