Where do you see Halo Forge?  I don't see it on the Windows Store.  Tried a link from the MS website and it didn't work.

So is there any point to getting a neo if you don't have a 4K TV?

I'm not sure why I'm even considering it as I don't play videogames anymore

Windows Store. Search: "Halo 5: Forge."

That's the specific title, it's literally Halo 5's multiplayer with some stuff cut out for Forge and custom games only at the moment. So no X-box cross-play or some playlists right now.

Also you need to buy the "bundle" right now since the store doesn't let you get the application by itself. The bundle is free since it installs the Halo Waypoint-ish app. Delete that, apparently it's screwing with the 5: Forge application.

Not there for me.  I assume it is because I didn't have the Win 10 Anniversary update.  Downloading that now...

Yeah, if you don't update the Windows store won't be able to see certain things on the store. It's the one MS employee that works on the store does at GAF: "Are you on the latest build!?" :lol

Also it's 32 gigs, so make sure you have that free space if you don't.

Same reason why I buy a good GPU for my computer even though I only play at 1080p, better framerate, better IQ, better effects.

Worst case scenario you have games rendering 4k/30fps downsampling to 1080p for a 1080p tv which looks awesome and is basically supersampling.  Should fix a lot of AA issues (hopefully FFXV hair).  Best case scenario is 60fps on 30fps games.  There's also games like Rise of Tomb Raider which have option #3, PC version on max settings @ 30fps/1080p = PS4P, PC version on low/mid settings @ 30fps/1080p = regular PS4.

I have no interest in buying a 4k TV ever.  I'm happy with my 1080p Plasma and will stick with it for another 5 years or so until 8K oled tvs are out or something.  But I'm buying PS4P because if you can afford it and you play PS4 games, why not have the most powerful hardware version that will run the non-PC games with the best performance, IQ and effects?

Bebpo, you seem to be basing your purchasing decision on FFXV.  It may not get any PS4 Pro enhancements.  Not every game is going to offer them.

Also seems like Square is going to announce the PC version after the console version hits and it is rumored to be far superior, performance-wise, to consoles.  Why not wait and see?  I could see them announcing the PC version and stating that the PS4 version will get a big patch alongside it...when you'd already be long done with the game.

I'm with you on the 4K TV thing though.  Well, I wouldn't say I have no interest ever, but I see no reason to get anything 4K until it's the standard...if that ever even happens.

I think every game released after October is required to support PS4P. It's the legacy games that may not get enhancements.

Doesn't matter, those enhancements aren't going to improve the framerate, as in multiplayer they have to keep the same level of performance as the original PS4.

Yeah, it's basically buying the more powerful graphics card for your PS4 and all your games from October on will be the best looking version of the game (outside of if there's a PC version).

Look, I'm not even saying PS4P is a good purchase.  But neither is buying a 1080 gpu over a 1070.  If you've got disposable income and you want to spend it for the version of the system with the best looking/running versions, you get a PS4P.  I just spent $400 to get drunk with boreans for two nights, I can waste $400 on a PS4P I'll use for 3-4 years as my main PS4 system.

Or you can save that $400 on a 1070, jump from Console and never have to deal with them fleecing you for "upgrades" that your $400 GPU would actually do. 🤔 :confused

Gypsy while upgrading my rig at the moment. ::) Point is, the PS4 upgrade is pointless. Rebuying the same console you already own for "better graphics" that are only going to be effected by single-player stuff (which Bebpo plays, granted) is dumb. You might as well wait for that older PS4 to break and the upgrade to come down in price at this point because Sony's offering has nothing there to make it worth the $400, unlike a GPU upgrade that gives you more VRAM and better performance.

Ff15 has multiplayer?

Tomb raider is getting an update from the same publisher. Option of better graphics, better FPS, or better resolution

PC is definitely the best unless you like Nintendo then Nintendo, or Japanese games then PS4/Vita/3DS but slowly they're trickling on to PC.  Still about 5 years away from all Japanese games being on steam.

Anyhow, I saw Last Guardian is ps4p, comes out a few weeks before the system, gonna be hard to wait but probably should.  Wonder how notable the difference will be in Japanese games.

One game I'd like to see an upgrade patch for is SFV since I bought it on PS4 and the PC version looks way better.

If Fatlus would just get on Steam already and Koei Tecmo up their porting game a bit (seriously keyboard control displays only in musou? who is gonna play that with mkb?) I'd have no need for PS4.

"4k"

*1440p upscaled guise

I think the Framebuffer is bigger than that, but I'd have to double check. Either way this whole thing is a minor bump in visual fidelity really. PSVR is where Sony is really spending the money.

They're gambling on a concept that the niche, evangelical VR audience have given up on?

Microsoft being the sole survivor of console manufacturing in 2020 would be a sight to behold.

Guerrilla Games - Killzone, Horizon Zero Dawn
Polyphony - Gran Turismo
Bend Studio - Days Gone
Foster City - Internal tools/dev support
Naughty Dog - UC4, The Last of Us Remastered, ICE Team
Northwest Studio - PSVR mini games
San Diego Studio - The Show
Santa Monica Studio - God of War and collaboration with a bunch of smaller teams on downloadable games/ports/PSVR stuff
Sucker Punch - Infamous
London Studio - SingStar, PSVR Worlds
Guerilla Cambridge - RIGS (PSVR)

Media Molecule - Tearaway, Dreams
PixelOpus - Entwined
SIE Japan - Bloodborne, Gravity Rush Remastered, Gravity Rush 2, The Last Guardian, The Tomorrow Children, The Playroom (PSVR), Deep Down

about 1/3 of Sony's internal studios are confirmed to be working on VR in some way.

I'm kind of coming around on the PRO. 4TF for 399 is a good offer really (considering the RX480 and 1060 are both 250), IF it can give improvements to 1080p tv owners.

I know Scorpio will be better, but if you live in Europe you'd struggle to find online games etc. or sell of your used games as no one has Xbox. So it's kind of hard to switch back. Plus all my friends have PS.

Ninty are notorious for keeping things pricey, they think other devs 'undervalue' games by not selling them for $50 or $60 for years on end. :gloomy
