is this a joke? please help
« on: September 18, 2016, 11:29:36 AM »
looking for a present for my bro, he likes games that involve talking and being sociable over mechanical minutiae like the flaming homo he is.

i read this article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/klara-granger/if-you-like-cards-against_b_8895458.html

and get to number 2. Mad Scientist University

"This game is a delightful romp through silliness, and is kid-friendly (aside from the vaguely ableist name)"

i properly can't tell if this is a gag or not and feel like the floor is sliding out underneath me with age.

Ho no, they're serious. Half their content is bashing this and that for not being diverse enough.

Here's their editorial board.

I would probably have sex with all of them.  Depending on how drunk I was, at least.  8)

At least they know their audience.  They like to talk a big game about diversity but talking is all they're interested in.

After that picture I bet they all went out for a pumpkin spice latte.

It looks like they sat the three asians down at the end of the table. Wonder if that's the east side of the building.

You know, so they're oriented.

Ghost Ship Enyo: An Out-Loud Text Adventure

A puzzle role-playing game that takes place in an abandoned spaceship.

It is the year 3100. Six months ago, another ship controlled by Command found a enormous hundred-year-old shipwreck floating there. They reported the findings back to Command, and left the shipwreck untouched. The ship is called the Enyo, and it was long thought to have been completely destroyed in the final battle of the Similean War. Now, you are a lab tech on the spaceship, Innovation, coming to explore the Enyo. You have been instructed by command to take a crew of scientists to pilot-test a new machine designed to purify air and stabilize the environments of spaceships where the hull has been fatally breached. Rather than test this machine by crashing service ships into things, the tests of this machine are taking place on shipwrecks throughout the galaxy. This is the first time the machine, the Magnapur42, will be tested in a non-simulated shipwreck environment. The wreck has been deemed safe, and you and some other team-members have come aboard.

This is an out-loud text-adventure game, created in the tradition of the games people used to play on the computer. This is an adaptation of this genre, designed and tested for use with a group of people instead of as a computer game.

One person acts as the computer, and the rest of the players share the role of one player character.

Content warnings for this game include: violence, mental illness, suicide, family separation, and fictional religiosity. Recommended for ages 16+.  Number of players: 2-5

Holy shit :lol

I love the idea that some crusty grognard working the counter at Game-A-Lot or Gamescape is going to be up-to-the-minute on progressive politics and its intersection in indie game designers, while secretly rubbing himself while staring at a poster of a woman in a chainmail bikini.
