I've listened to just about every genre of music, and this has gripped me for the last 3 - 4 years at least. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do but it's 100% my fav genre now. I expect there to be exactly 2 people (myself included) that like this type of music but I thought I'd share.

Really hard picking a few artists/examples as I have a playlist of 900+ songs I listen to with not a single flop. A couple of examples anyway.

Where you been bro? We've had music threads and I've posted this shit in them already.

I've been into this stuff for a few years now. Started off with vaporwave/chillwave but moved on pretty quickly to Future Funk. If you're looking on Youtube, check out Artzie Music's channel. He posts some good stuff and has links to the creators' sites, which are usually pages on Soundcloud. Once I found out that most people use that to post their own stuff, I created my own channel there and repost stuff when I stumble on something I like.

I like what I've heard but don't really follow the scene too much. I'm a bit more into the 'aesthetic' than the music, especially all those 80's anime and PC-98 game cutscenes used in it.

These are some really good recommends.

I get why people are drawn to the aesthetics of it, who doesnt love 80s/90s anime/funk/summer/cyberpunk/retro stylings, the music will quickly make you forget that the visuals drew you in at first though

yeah I'm in the same boat, the concepts and vibes of the scene seem cool but the music I've heard that's specifically associated with that label just sounds to me like worse versions of other stuff (Shibuya-kei, various electronic and ambient styles, moody synth-pop, etc.) and makes me just want to listen to the originals instead. I haven't heard much though, will try some of these links later.

The samples used are generally great + nostalgic songs things like shooting star of love etc If futurefunk gets people to listen to the original sampled songs as well I cant even be mad, it's mostly great
