Oh, you want more details? OK.
Believe it or not, I met my wife trying out
speed dating.

Went there expecting nothing to come from it and got two numbers. I ended up going out with my wife because she stayed after the event and kept talking to me, whereas the other woman hightailed it out of there. We saw each other 1-2 times a week on average and never had a single problem while we were dating. Her parents liked me so much that they even let me stay at their house when I'd drive up to their town to see her (this was in Japan). I proposed after we'd gone out for about a year and we got married about six months after that. Maybe that was a bit short, but I'm serious when I say we never had a single problem when dating. It was
after getting hitched that some stuff would come up.

We lived together for a year before we then had a ceremony. Can't remember exactly why it was delayed so much at this point but I want to say it was to just make sure that our two families could get out to be there (we went to Hawaii).
The one thing that did not happen while we went out was living together-- she has some old-fashioned values and did not want to move in with a boyfriend until she got married. I didn't really care but thought living together would be a good way to make sure that we would get along. Fortunately we did or that would have been a quick turnaround.
