I've watched the Jim Sterling impressions, not the GB one, but in some games (notably some sort of FPS, not the Until Dawn one) the Move controls were exhibiting Parkinson level jitter which is offputting and breaks the immersion.

He also mentions that Sony is selling Move pairs for 100$

cashing in time for failed tech. You can of course buy second hand but it is a bit of a lottery when it comes to how well the battery aged.

I think live event streaming would be a killer app. I wonder when that will happen? I know Facebook/Oculus were looking into 'experience' VR. for concerts and travel, but Yeah, I don't think gaming will produce the 'killer app' needed for the public to jump on board just yet.

There's a couple of affordable 360-degree cameras coming out (Samsung just made one for instance) so I can see legs there.

The stream did a lot to convince me that I didn't want to spend that much on subpar VR. That and I've played an unleased PSVR game that seriously fucked me up and I don't get sick usually. I rather pay the money I would use for it towards a VIVE at this point there you get perfect 1 to 1 with their controllers.

My only issue is finding the room for a Vive setup. Which I guess is the most first world problem you can have, lol.

I said the same thing earlier today to a friend who is working with the hardware. He said the experience of wearing it versus watching what someone else sees is quite different, and that humans move their heads around much more than we expect.
