Posted Trevor before, but dunno if i linked this one, anyways i love this song.

Our music taste probably overlaps a great deal. Everything you've posted so far is on my own Youtube playlists. :lol

Are you also familiar with ALEX, Tokyo-Rose, Scandroid, Anachronist, Dance with the Dead? And maybe Dead Astronauts?

Yes my man, me and you can do this, let's spread some synthwave :rejoice

EDIT: Just looked at the last page and saw you were a Perturbator fan too  :leon , Uncanny Valley is my favorite album also, with Weapons for Children, Neo Tokyo, Venger, Sentient etc :rejoice I enjoy UV more as a fan, but I recognize that with Corrupted by Design he's stepped up levels technically and production wise.  :-*

Heard Gangsta's Paradise for the first time in years the other day and it made me think of Stevie Wonder (and Michelle Pfeiffer. Is she still alive?!). Listening to Innervisions, Songs in the Key of Life and Talking Book.

When I'm not shilling our dystopic future sounds with Momo, I'd like to rep my favorite JP Star (hopefully someday) Daoko. <3 Mostly I love that her style is all over, from pop, rap, hip-hop, she never gets boring! :D

Some people might know her from the Teddyloid collabs, as those always end up being the most referenced.

Shilling for my favorite JP star, he does mostly Jazz fusion style songs but he's got a range. My fav song of his:

Having to ruminate on a few things made me moody so.

A blast from the past tbh. I used to watch AMV's as a pre-teen/kid all the time on Winamp's (R.I.P.) Shoutcast channels. This one was cycled a lot.

But this brief recalling of my childhood just made me sadder lol.

On the brighter side, this video was always cycled a lot as well. (Skip to 27Seconds mark) I always feel a little better reminiscing on this one.

Was never into AMVs but the music of the 90s and 80s kicks up lots of nostalgia waves in me, hence why I love Future Funk. Unrelated to the aforementioned except a sense of nostalgia I find myself listening to this gem right now and wishing to go on a date with my sweetheart to get milkshake and burgers at the roadhouse

SAC was better at everything tbh. That said, I adored ARISE and it's music all the same. I take each entry of the series as it's own thing.

Huge GiTS fan. Even though they shit all over it with the live-action, I couldn't help but love even certain parts of that. The Ghost In The Shell README comes out on the 7th, and I have never pre-ordered a book faster tbh. :lol

I'm a huge GitS fan, and yeah SAC is the best GitS imo. I didnt hate Arise like most, it was never going to be SAC, so I did the rational thing and compared it with other animes around that time, and it compared very favorably to most.

I have tachikoma plushies all over the fucking show, well I used to, I actually put them away and have a more neon feel around my place now. Going to set one of this up in my living room when I buy my new place (on the cards for next year) kinda dont want to invest in anything till i know what im working with. Was ready to pull the trigger on a pretty sweet apartment last month but it was sold under me :'( Maybe I buy a house then   :idont

:respect

Dude, how old are you? I'm 50 and grew up in Los Angeles, so Boingo was all of high school and college years. Elfman's So-Lo album was also good, though I get the impression that it was just a Boingo album without a couple guys who had been annoying him at that time. (checks der wikipedia):
Quote
The album was released under Elfman's name instead of Oingo Boingo's in order to circumvent a dispute with the band's record label. Elfman stated that he used the opportunity to record previously written material, moving away from the band's ska origins and more towards mainstream synthpop. He described it as "a chance to experiment with slower tempos".[1] It was the band's final album recorded with bass player Kerry Hatch and keyboardist Richard Gibbs.

Huh.

Anyway, glad to see another fan around.

I'm 23. I was one year old when they disbanded, and started listening to them like a year ago, I think? I'm kinda jealous you got to live through that.

So-Lo is great. I don't like their last album as much as the rest, but it's still good once you get over the surprise.

Then you've got great taste in your retro/newwave/ska interests. There's a cover band which plays in Los Angeles/San Diego area, Dead Man's Party. I've not managed to catch them yet, since I'm not in the USA. I guess Danny's brother, Richard, is involved somehow. I'd love to catch them someday.

I never managed to catch one of their legendary Halloween shows, but I saw Boingo in 1990, a year after they canceled their Santa Cruz concert due to the Loma Prieta quake. It was a great show. I'll always regret not making my way down to LA for their Farewell concert.
