Ashame when a dev isn't allowed to explore the niche they are especially good at.

Saddens me in the same way as when Radical Entertainment died. Another good dev who were great at a specific type of game.

Sleeping Dogs was easily one of my favorite open-world action games from that generation. Always did want that sequel.

This was a studio comprised of many of the BULLY developers, so it is quite sad to see them go. Their status of continued relegation to helping other AAA games ship must not have helped them land enough new work to recover from flopping on ModNation Racers, Burlap Sack Boy Karts, and the PC MMO version of Sleepeh Dawgs.

I'm trying to be glib, but I was half-hoping that if I ever got back into development, it would be with UFG.

Those are truly unappreciated games, though Toy Story 3 got Avalanche the Disney Infinity gig, for better or worse. I can't imagine the major players in that studio are having a hard time finding work, or even rebuilding as a "new" team.

This is sad news, Sleeping Dogs was great. And great getting an open-world game in an Asian city for a change.

Yeah its pretty hard to escape that rut of being the team that mostly does extra porting programming and what not on someone else's game. Blind Squirrel seems like a company that might be headed down that route depending upon how the BioShock remaster does for them.

Are these the guys who developed Smash+Grab, which just came out on early access on Steam?  At least the dev is pushing Valve to refund everyone for the game that they won't be supporting.

when they put out DLC for Sleeping Dogs that was deliberately reminiscent of The Storm Riders (which is obscure to international audiences, even among fans of Martial Arts cinema), they won me over pretty much for life at that point.

Damn shame. And yes, I'll take Sleeping Dogs over GTA any frigging time.

Got ~700 players on the first day and then started to nose-dive after that. 12 are currently playing, but it's like nearly midnight on the East Coast US...

On the bright side at least they're good guys and will let Valve refund you if you want to get your money back, especially if you took "advantage" of that 15% off sale.

I still have one piece of DLC waiting to be played, and I'm just sort of waiting for a good time to savor it.
