So I said I will be posting less, and here I go making my first GAF-type post. I am permad from GAF tho, so help me Bore you're my only hope! Also this is weekend is my last time off from work for a while, so what I said still applies.
To give my dilemma a little context, I have been a ridesharing driver for the last few months to make a little extra cash (came in handy when I was in between jobs over the summer). It's pretty common that things fall out of people's bags and pockets, but usually it's ineffectual things like a pack of gum or an umbrella. This time, this older man dropped a phone case that did not only contain his windows phone, but hus drivers license, work id, debit card and a bunch of other things. For three days now ive been trying to return this to him.
I tried googling his name, but I can't find his phone number. I tried going back to where I picked him up two times. The place seems like some sort of agricultural packing plant or some shit, because his work id said he's a security guard and I picked him up there at 2am. The first time I went at night and the door to their office was unlocked. I walked in and called for anyone, filled with dread of trespassing, and when the alarm started going off I hauled ass. The second time I came during the day and the people who worked there said they don't know who he is.
I also went to the address where I dropped him off. I knocked and knocked on the door, and even though there were people inside they didn't open up.
Uber doesn't really have clear guidelines for handling matters like this, and their support department sucks. I am going to try one last time to go to this guy's house and then my last option is to give it to the police department of his city.
TLDR; help me Bore I'm autistic and don't know how to return a dude's smartphone/wallet
