Biden will put up 300+ EVs against Trump, so no idea why everyone is so dour.

He leads in the polling averages in sufficient states to win. We had a +13 Dem Generic Congressional Ballot poll today. Everything is looking good.

I remember when things looked pretty good in 2016 too.

Things will be fine. I've been told hundreds of times on this very forum that Hillary Clinton was the only candidate who could lose to Trump.

In 2016 there were only two candidates. :confused

Biden will lose.

it's fine glen, sometimes you gotta let it out. now that i've gotten that out it's time to continue working for bernie. i hope you continue to use your clearly expensive and very important skillset to build bridges between the moderates and bernie, since you surely were doing that before and definitely not pointing fingers at others while doing nothing. ;)

remember, it's not me. it's US.

I was told repeatedly that we lost because Dems who obviously would have cruised in 2016, like Biden and Warren, stayed out.

I don't know about that and I've never really heard that argument.

Trump is a unique candidate.

Does anyone have a clue why Trump has gotten so many votes on Super Tuesday even in blue states?
He was pretty much uncontested so why was the Republican turn-out higher than 2016 and sometimes even higher than his vote share in the GE of 2016?

why wouldn't i want to work on reaching out to sweethearts like that? i'll stick to getting new voters and hope the rest of you shits can deal with getting dragged along kicking and screaming.

keep doing nothing but lashing out and dismissing your "lessers", i'm sure that'll build whatever coalition you pretend to care about :)

And you'll fail. Biden will probably win New Mexico, and if he doesn't, he'll still win the nomination. Everything you're doing will amount to absolutely nothing. Your cause is lost, and you won't make even the slightest bit of difference.

Imagine smugly telling people they'll never be able to give healthcare and schooling to the needy :lol

Glenda, something to consider. Biden isn't as popular as Hillary. But he's also not as unpopular as Hillary either. The polling for him might be accurate and you may be right. This also explains why Bernie isn't doing well on the ballot in areas he did well in 2016. Maybe 2016 was due to the Hillary factor and people went for him because he wasn't her. Which gives credence to your sexism argument.

I can tell you I went to vote in the morning for the general and mid-terms only to get out of line because I needed to get to work. I went back after my shift because, thankfully, my shift ended before polls closed. But I don't fault kids for going "fuck, I can't sit here. *bolts out*" due to life-factors.
almost every state has laws for requesting time off to vote and you can also mail in your ballot weeks ahead of time

And according to reddit, those states are "2 hours max, otherwise tough shit" and "unless you're 65+ years old, you more than likely aren't eligible for early voting." So feel free to correct me on that, because I'm dubious that is the panache for getting younger-voters to actually fucking vote over 7+ hour lines if the voting establishments (state, federal) make it a PITA to actually vote early or the day-of.

Every Dem wants everyone to have good healthcare and schooling.

If they did, they'd be voting Sanders. Not Neoliberal Joe "I'M FUCKING INVICIBLE!" Biden, dude.

Let's be reality.

Voting ain't hard.

Early voting is a fairly easy act. You have two full weeks. Shit is even open on the weekends.

I'm talking mail-in. If you're talking Early (physical) voting that's another can of worms:

-Limited areas (not in rural, hello experience! Sidenote: In said experience, city only has THREE locations max. Not even on the college campus despite being a college town. Hello excluding college-age voters!)
-Long lines just like physical day-of

"BUT TWO WEEKS EARLY!"

Doesn't matter if the experience is just as painful/long as the day-of.

Is there a rule that you need money to run?

At some point Trump's campaign was in the red until his people pleaded with him to put in 20 million, which he did sort of.
if you can convince people to work for free you don't have to spend anything, but no money makes it tough to pay for places to host rallies and to put up ads in states that have primaries. plus the whole traveling thing.

You, benji or someone else posted a story that she has 6m/month payroll for her operation (unionized, even). Kudos for that BTW. But yeah she probably needs money even with minimal advertisement running.

There are so many countries with universal healthcare that aren't single payer. It's ridiculous to have to read day in and day out that single payer is the only option, and anything else is some kind of corrupt or cowardly half-measure. With sufficient political will we could get to something closer to the German system. This would be a much easier transition than trying to tear everything down and do M4A.

Medicare for More combined with some other policy options would be fine and much less disruptive as well.

At the end of the day the single biggest problem in the U.S. healthcare system is price - price per surgery, per drug, per medical device, etc. Just about any system would work better if you could cut prices by 1/3rd or more. Obviously forcing all providers to accept Medicaid reimbursement rates would be one way to do it, but it's not the only way.

Here's my argument for Bernie's M4A single payer system:

It's better to start on something like single payer and negotiate down to a private and public option rather than start with a public option and then end up with the abortion that is ACA. Bernie's M4A gives him rope to negotiate down to something sensible. Starting with public option is a non starter because centrist Democrats ALWAYS sacrifice something to Republicans because they're craven pussies made of a party of failures. If you start in the middle you end up with a neutered healthcare plan that caters to healthcare industries.

Voting early in a lot of states is a PITA. You have to go to the county office during business hours and do paperwork.

In California, they literally mail you a ballot three fucking weeks in advance. You then put it into any fucking mailbox - no postage needed.

And if you dont like that, you can vote in person at a voting center two weeks in advance.

Theres zero excuse.

Another consideration for M4A:

it has the healthcare lobbyists BUZZING.

This gets them to sound the alarm to do something about the current healthcare to stop from a public only option from forming. It not only gives you rope at the negotiation table, it also literally puts pressure on the industries that control our politicians.

Sanders cannot build a big tent. He relies on an age demographic that doesn't vote. He won in a small amount of states. His prospects going forward are small. The rust belt, sun belt and maybe PNW are his only hopes.

The polls are also wrong. Not just on candidates but also issues. Progressive views are not popular.

You don't have to pitch a big tent to become president. You don't even have to have the most votes. See: Donald Trump

Ah, true. But you need a big tent to become the nominee.

Also esch, it's not just Sanders. What about Warren? Isn't she known as a progressive? Hm?

In the Bible you know how it says you shall know them by their fruit? Where's the fruit for progressive views? Warren got toasted. Sanders can't build a big tent. Fruit means results. Are there any for progressive movements besides marijuana?

Progressive views are niche in America. Accept it. In 20 years you'll still be fighting for crumbs. Bet.

Fruit actually means genitals. It's a passage about all hogs are unique, like finger prints.

Because it's using Obama - who hasn't endorsed anyone yet  for president - as a pawn. It's a tactic that turns me off. I get it, and I know why they're going that route. Still doesn't mean I have to like it. It's a way to manipulate voters into thinking it's an endorsement from Obama for president, just in the same way Bloomberg used Obama for his ads.

All this over an impotent war criminal deporter in chief.
