This is a night and day difference.

With Trump it's like yeah he got older and angrier but he still talks the same nonsense.
Biden seems like an entirely different person.  :doge

the debate has been that by acting like assholes, bernie's supporters have hurt his campaign

I wasn't sure if you understood what people had been talking about

Oh, yeah. I don't think that is a thing. I mean sure people are talking about it. But not people actually considering not to vote for a person because people not related to the campaign we're mean to them. If that's something that actually swayed your vote, then I would have to guess you weren't seriously considering sanders or anyone else to begin with.

watch biden's debate vs paul ryan and compare it to anything from biden this year. it's night and day. 2020 biden is a different person and i'm not convinced his mind will last the rest of this year, much less another four.

Also people are monday-morning qbing the Sanders campaign as if its failings were obvious from the start when 2 weeks ago he was dominant and everyone thought Biden was dead. If the moderates had been a bit slower in consolidating or less coordinated Sanders would probably be cruising towards the nomination with 30-35% of the vote a la Trump 2016. Who would have thought the Dems would be the one to have their shit together?

There were obvious flaws and people did point them out. Doesn't mean in was inevitable that he'd lose this way; a couple weeks ago I thought he was the favorite. But the potential pitfalls were pretty out in the open.

Also, comparing to 2016, the GOP race was just about as consolidated on Super Tuesday as the Dem race was this time around, and Trump was pulling in higher vote shares than Bernie did this time.

What is the moral case of rallying behind an old man clearly not entirely there?

They might be posturing to get the presidency and then have Biden step down when he gets worse to have the president they actually want. In other words, Bloomberg will be VP.

Youth engagement and stats are promising. Which is good because (ideally) they'll be continuing to act and vote and grow for decades to come.
this is what gives me the most hope. im willing to bet that whats looking like a tactical failure now is gonna look like the first sign of a major shift ~30 years from now

Truly the status quo candidate then: another useful idiot for his handlers and the senate to exploit for their own personal gain.  Centrist dem-trash in media and twitter can go get fucked to death for all I care, at this point.

He's clearly not the campaigner he was and the prospect of him being president with four years of additional cognitive decline is not fantastic.

Starting at least a year ago I heard several older normie Dems say that they were worried about Biden being old, which is I think why Pete, Amy etc were all getting looks.

Biden is 58 delegates away from bernie in cali.

Is there a possibility to get more delegates with less votes in cali?

Getting it out of the way up front: I want Bernie to come back and win this thing.

If that doesn't happen, is this going to be another negativity parade all summer and fall like Hillary's candidacy was?
I'm afraid it will be.  It seems like Biden would run on decency which means focusing on Trump's indecency.  And you know how Trump will campaign.  The unfortunate it thing is that it seems like Biden has some good policies under him, but because they're shitty-complicated neoliberal policies rather than universal ones they're harder to communicate.

Also I don't know how much Biden's policies that Matthew Iglesias can pull out will reflect his priorities in office.

Poor Bernie

bern has 33.8% and 167 delegates, biden has 25.1% and 116 delegates. bernie has .3 more delegates per percent of the vote to biden.

He was apparently detained for a bit in South Africa, not full-on arrested.

Not a big enough distinction that it's worth trying to make into a major story.

It's disgusting, he's trying to claim all the black men in his life.

He may be voting for and supporting my opponent, but it is so paramount that we must rekindle the fire of idealism in our society, for nothing suffocates the promise of America more than unbounded cynicism and indifference.

Thank you for not being indifferent in the face of tyrants and oppression, my friend.

Dude's using footage from the meeting where Obama told him he really needed to get the fuck out of the 2016 race to make it look like he and Obama are homies.

It's kind of shitty tbh.

Maybe he called Sanders to the white house to congratulate him on taking clinton to task.

When you think about it, it's Obama's fault this bernie thing is even a thing. If it wasnt for his endorsement Bernie would be making cabinets on public tv now.

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2020/03/judge-smacks-down-tulsi-gabbards-free-speech-lawsuit-against-google/

is filler ok

Quote
Gabbard accused Google of violating her rights under the First Amendment. But the First Amendment prohibits the government, not private companies, from abridging people's free speech rights. Google is not a government agency, so the First Amendment simply doesn't apply.

Gabbard's lawyers countered that Google should be treated like a government agency. Google regulates political ads on its platforms, which gives the company a lot of influence over the electoral process. In Gabbard's view, that meant that Google was exercising a government-like role over the electoral process and hence should be bound by the First Amendment.

Judge Wilson didn't buy it.

"Google does not hold primaries, it does not select candidates, and it does not prevent anyone from running for office or voting in elections," Wilson wrote. "To the extent Google regulates anything, it regulates its own private speech and platform."

Quote
"Despite the fact that M4A [Medicare for All] could deliver these large benefits to efficient labor market functioning, the policy often comes under fire from critics making highly exaggerated claims about the potential job loss that could occur under such a reform," Bivens noted.

"The grain of truth in some of the claims is that, like any productivity improvement, the adoption of a reform like M4A would require the redeployment of workers from one sector (the health insurance and medical billing complex) to other sectors (mostly the delivery of health care)," he wrote. "But there is little in the M4A-induced redeployment of workers that would greatly stress the American labor market over and above the uncertainty and churn that characterizes this labor market every year."

Quote
"Our study is actually conservative because it doesn't factor in the lives saved among underinsured Americans—which includes anyone who nominally has insurance but has postponed or foregone care because they couldn't afford the copays and deductibles," Alison Galvani, an author of that study, who is a researcher at the Center for Infectious Disease Modeling and Analysis at the Yale School of Public Health, told Newsweek last month.
