Hoyer's also supporting Joe Kennedy against Ed Markey.

Given his history, wouldn't be surprised if he walks back his statement a bit after getting a call from Pelosi.

To contrast with something more serious.

Quote
In 2016, a quarter of the oldest people in all state prisons were on death row or serving life sentences, and another quarter were serving sentences of 25 years or longer, The Marshall Project found.

We've got an aging prison population because of our long sentences, but it's very hard to get a lot of people to care about incarcerated people (outside of for-profit prisons and non-violent drug offenders, which sort of nibble around the edges of the problem).

"Great pick sir"

"Deserves to be in jail. They oughtta lock her up for trafficking, I want the ... I want the constitution order... I mean executive order on my desk the first day of my Presidency"

"Sir?"

"Also Ghislaine Maxwell... she should be... she should be my Vice President. I want her vetted and want her to be my Vice President"

"... Joe... I'm sorry aren't you mixing them up, that's a good joke Joe haha"

"No no no, I know Trump wants to get his grubby hands on Maxwell and lock her up in one of his dungeon clubs but I tell you if I'm President that women will get the respect she deserves and she deserves to be my black sister"

I don't think we're picking any governors this time due to how needed they are administrating the pandemic response in each state. Otherwise, I'd think New Mexico's governor Michelle Lujan Grisham would be high on the list.

By all means stump up the Biden vote, but let's be real about how bleak the situation is instead of running back the 2016 case to vote Democrat. Lukewarm bathwater does nothing for a burning neighborhood.

My worries is that :
- Biden will have an incredibly meek policy if elected (even if Dems wins Senate) and most people will enjoy the tranquillity of a "normal" presidency even if it's low on content. Trying to armor public healthcare and passing a better minimum wage, hopefully ?
- Biden will be a one term president and the chosen back bench will suuuuck.
- Republicans will run a guy as horrible as Trump but savvier and more effective.

Contrary to what Glen is telling me, the middle of the crisis is in fact the correct time to be disparaging half-measures and inadequate platforms. Biden is not vulnerable to an enthusiasm gap (from this direction).

Who isn't excited to advance racial equity with public-private investment through a new small business opportunity plan, reformed Opportunity Zones that fulfill their promise, a historic commitment to equalizing federal procurement, or a housing plan that makes bold investments in homeownership and access to affordable housing?

Increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 and eliminating the tip wage would have been a fantastic platform 6 years ago.
