kingv: We already knew Wikileaks had been in contact with Trump Jr, going back to the Goldstone thing. We know that because they said they contacted themselves. They also said back then that it'd be better to leak through Wikileaks. All we learned is that they had other, similar correspondence. And then the Atlantic article does a slight of hand by putting in the Russia operative claim on Wikileaks which has no proof or basis.
And this is all about Wiki contact Trump Jr about a PAC that spread the Iraq lies starting up a website for the Russia/Trump narrative.
Just to be clear. What is documented in those emails is already a crime.
Even if there is no Russia involvement whatsoever, coordinating with Wikileaks is a violation of Federal Election Law.

what crime
Making any contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or making any expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement in connection with any federal, state or local election in the United States;

I know you will respond in “but he wasn’t part of the campaign”, except he was very clearly acting as part of the campaign in multiple instances. It doesn’t hold water.
It is a crime for Assange to coordinate with the campaign, and it was illegal for Jr. to facilitate it by having his dad follow up on the tweets or otherwise coordinate with Wikileaks.
