So far I only liked two PS4 exclusives: Until Dawn and Uncharted. Bloodborne was alright I guess but at that point I found myself getting tired of the Souls formula. Out of what you mentioned Neir, Yakuza, and Spiderman is all I'm really interested in.
I mean honestly I don't like most Sony exclusives. Infamous, The Order, Until Dawn, and Killzone were all pretty meh. But my point is at least there has been and will continue to be more games of different genres that Sony pushes out. If we count the Japanese support, then yes you're talking about niche stuff that won't appeal to everyone. But again thats the point. It's there and being highlighted as an aspect of the Platform. No doubt Sony is helping out some way with the Yakuza games. They wont do much and are only for a small audience, but that means that audience is being feed something. Is MS feeding that audience? Maybe one title every few years that it bums out and then does nothing with. And it's not like Sony doesn't have stuff that appeals to people the same way Halo and Gears do.
I actually do like more of the exclusives on the Xbox One than I do on PS4. Like Halo 5, Quantum Break, D4, Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall and Killer Instinct. The latter three I still go back to from time to time while I never go back to the PS4 games. If anything, the Xbox exclusives are more varied gameplay wise. That said the PS4 does have better looking upcoming exclusives, but as always it's mostly the third party games.
I mean I guess, obviously it's an opinion. Yes I think Quantum Break was very good, but pretty much all those others(except Killer Instinct for most) felt like duds. And in the end I don't see how they are all more varied then the Playstation lineup.
I'm not one for console wars but it sounds like the PS4 just targets your niches more than it being better than the Xbox.
Yes it does, while also targeting my more mainstream tastes as well. The Xbox only does one and it's growing increasingly safe and bland at it.
This gen, more so than the last, makes it hard to try and differentiate too much between them as the majority of great games are multiplatform and everything comes down to very specific preferences. If you don't notice that your post is fanboyism then I don't know what to tell you.
Eh I don't agree at all. Yes it comes down to preference, but it's become increasingly more obvious which one has a wider range of games.
And I never said it wasn't fanboyism. I vastly prefer Playstation. I still own an Xbox and if it was like it was on the early days of the 360 I would think that MS was killing it. And how could I not be a fan of the PS4. It has and continues to offer me all kinds of games of every taste. While MS has basically shat out a few things and then riled on things that I think are way past their prime and really shows no signs of changing. Looking forward to 2017 I can't think of an Xbox One only title to really be excited for. Scalebound I guess? Meanwhile I can think of Persona 5, Ace Combat 7, Ni Oh, Horizon, Gravity Rush 2, Ni No Kuni 2, Nier, FFXII, Days Gone, Spider-Man, God of War, Yakuza 0/K, Tales of Beseria, Uncharted Chloe, and so on. They may not be all good, but they are promising titles and mostly all different.
