I bought the XBLA port of Radiant Silvergun 5 years ago and never played it, fired it up today and couldn't put it down for several hours. What a masterpiece of a shooter. Does anyone know what BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS means exactly? I'm assuming something like "HAVE POSITIVE DISPOSITION TO ATTAIN ACHIEVEMENT" is a good translation.

Anyhoo I'm training to git gud at this one, will hopefully nail the 1cc achievement before too long. Treasure for life!!!

Fucking awesome game. A couple of the snobbier shmup fans don't like it due to the experience system and issues with the chaining/playing for score, but when it comes to production values, unique gameplay mechanics, and level design, it's tough to beat.

yeah anyone who's shitting on this game is being an uptight butthole. tons of classic moments in it, plus a great soundtrack too. try playing it on very hard for an early attempt at bullet hell.

Too many modes? Theres like Arcade and Story and practice/level select lol. Seems like a good amount to me :p

And yeah I initially found the number of weapons overwhelming but after playing and experimenting you get more comfortable firing the right weapon for the job. Game is clearly an all-time classic shmup

Pretend you're playing a shmup version of Megaman, it's all about learning and experimenting with the best weapons to use at the time. Enemy placement and patterns do a good job of tipping you off what you need to use - the game is extremely well designed. I definitely prefer that to something like Gradius or any Compile shmup where you power up and are nearly invincible, then you die and lose it all and you're pretty much fucked for a long while.
