why would rare be trying to sneak in crude humor in ghoulies when Nintendo already let them publish conker?

Conker was intentional gross out humor and a send up of the platforming genre at the time. Ghoulies was supposed to be the next big E-Rated game for Rare and Nintendo that would be aimed at the kids audience like DKC was (As Kameo was heading for a T-Rating) but the fact that the name "Grabbed By The Ghoulies" even passed Nintendo's radar without question says they were either incredibly oblivious or in on the joke from the start.

Rare probably submitted the name to Nintendo and they immediately sent out 20,000 "WILL YOU BUY OUR DEV" emails to various other publishers.

After doing due diligence and discovering the name of the project, all potential buyers dropped out except for Microsoft. Because Microsoft is dumb as shit.

I didn't say anything about working on a new ip. I said new as in, a different franchise. Going back to metroid would be boring but I do want a new 2d one.

What would you like to see them work on, then?

I'm not really sure. I wanted them to do Zelda before BOTW was announced. If BOTW sucks my answer will be Zelda.

This is all pretty light shit for considering someone an asshole. If the worst he did was undermine some of his peers and repurpose some of their work two decades ago he's pretty close to the bottom of the list of the scummiest people who's work I enjoy.
