Since bork's banned me from the fighting game thread I figured I'd start my own for the fighting game I care the most about, Super Smash Smash Bros.

Anyways GENESIS 4 is tomorrow until Sunday and they just confirmed Nintendo as a sponsor! GENESIS is second only to EVO in terms of Smash player count, and is the largest Smash-centered tourney following Apex's downfall.

It's a joke, but Smash clearly isn't very welcome in that thread anyways so a separate thread is probs for the best.

Included in what way? Even shit like Stafy, Devil World, Murasame, Brain Training and "Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru" got Assist Trophies.

You say , but I remember trying to play co-op with a friend online against others and the game wouldn't allow for it.  We ended up finding that if we both tried searching for a match at the exact same time, it would put us in the same game, but not always on the same team.     It lacks certain features that are available on other games on other platforms.

Yes. Bayo was Diddy v1 levels of broken until the latest patch, which nerfed her pretty hard (but she's still really good, as you saw.)

Cloud's always been really good and he's second on the current tier list IIRC.

I'm not really pro anything at the high levels (aside from my mains, which rarely make an appearance), but I am anti-Rosalina and Sonic.

Oddly I haven't seen Ryu at all this tourney despite him being supposedly great. Seen way more Mewtwo and Bayo.

I was NOT a fan of two stocks becoming the standard at first, and while I still think they can dull or preempt some epic comebacks (which is where the hypest Melee matches are), it does work really well for the speed of the game. Rage means if you're on a tear you can two stock someone fairly quickly I think if you get a good opening.

As for Melee, four stocks there is completely different because the game itself is faster. I think overall match time is equivalent to Smash 4 two stock.

That's what I've heard. Lacks the Fludd and he's too slow to make use of Mario's combos (which is basically why normal Mario is viable at all.)

I fear playing good Marios as Villager because he just fucking combo locks you and 0-deaths you in like five seconds.

Marth used to be garbo in Smash 4 until a couple recent patches buffed him up. v1 Smash 4 basically carried his Brawl self over which was garbo.

With Marth it all depends on the reach of his sword and how often it can be interrupted. The patch buffs jumped him up a whole bunch of spots.

Marth himself is really only considered "pretty good." Considered 19th in the current tier list (C-tier.) Like I said Leo just makes him look ridic.

It's gotta be coming.

I suspect the hold-up is they're scrambling to get a v1 for the Switch OS out the door and they don't have USB drivers working yet, which means no GC adapter.

Also hopefully they're bringing back fucking Ice Climbers now that they don't have to worry about the fucking 3DS version nonsense.
