Year of the backlog
« on: January 23, 2017, 12:53:53 PM »
My backlog is so big I think I should finish some games I own before buying new shit this year (technically i already failed since I bought Ryse but...) I really feel like i should dedicate 2017 to this cause

I know this is a autistic struggle post but what do you guys do with your backlogs?

Im not talking bouto playing some crap that is shittier like gta4 buy good games like South Park or Starcraft HOTS

I put them in a category called "play this shit already" on steam, scan over the list to see what I want to play from it, then fire up Binding of Isaac again

I stopped buying new games. By the time I get around to playing them they'll be on sale for 10€ or less and I'll probably have a better PC to run them on.

Problem is, I keep adding to the list in other ways (old games, re-playing games, mods) or spend my gaming time on PoE and Dirty Bomb.

there are so many good games released in the last few months and many more coming out soon. I'm trying to play what I got already but it doesn't help that games are fucking huge now. I'm sure I'll appreciate it when there's downtime in a couple years but right now i feel like we haven't seen so many quality releases since the ps2 gen. it's overwhelming.

i also feel bad for whatever underperforms because there are some great games that will have their sequels hobbled because of underwhelming sales.

I have a massive backlog on Steam, but I keep buying more games anyway. Sometimes I play them a bit, sometimes I don't. :yeshrug

I'm declaring backlog bankruptcy when I get my Switch, so the pressure's really on for the next month to clear out the following:

- Pokémon Moon
- Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
- Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
- Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
- Resident Evil: Revelations
- Mutant Mudds Super Challenge
- Earthbound Beginnings

- The Evil Within
- The Last of Us

Gonna be tough...

Started playing Pikmin 3 this weekend instead of preordering RE7.

Still got Nioh and Zelda preordered though.  :fbm

Just remembered I never beat Tales of Zesteria in 2015, so that's what I'm playing now.

I'm sure something else will distract me soon, though.

I still have beaten Tales of Zesteria and I just preordered Tales of Berseria.

I still haven't played Xillia but I just got the email that my Berseria copy shipped. My backlog is ridiculous...

I beat Xillia. And I gave up on Xillia 2 after all the debt bullshit.

Hehe. My copy of Berseria shipped this morning.

Same here, but I've cut down on how many games I buy and am kinda trying to actually beat stuff.

Falling behind on games is like the best thing ever -- it's how I got diablo 3 + expansions for $20 and the destiny collection for $30. I hope I never catch up.

I have no problem playing real old games, next game I'm eager to play is an RPG from 1991 - Lagrange Point. It recently got fan translated and the soundtrack KICKS ASS.

I'm working on finishing Persona 4 and Valkyria Chronicles before Zelda, Mass Effect and Persona 5 hit.

First world struggle is real, brehs. :noah

I'm also determined to get through more of my backlog this year. I've got two crates of 360 games that I want to play, and a dozen unplayed digital-download titles on it as well.

Unfortunately, I did buy Watch_Dogs 2 and picked up copies of Titanfall 2 and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 from a friend, so I'm feeling set with new games for a while.

This'll be the first year in a long while I promise to play more new games than old. Nier Automata, Persona 5, Trails the 3rd (not technically new, but will be the first time released in English), Ys 8, Zeruda, Tokyo Xanadu, Mario Odyssey, etc. Xenoblade 2, DQ11, Shenmue 3 and FF7r if they make it out this year. Maybe even the new Planescape game if it turns out good. Doesn't help that most of them are really LONG RPGs/ARPGs.
