That Skylight Freerange 2 video is amazing. Absolutely amazing.

The amount of effort some guy put into that game is frightening. And all that lore. It's like a super low budget shovelware Bioware game that takes place in Nova Scotia. And they expect you to give a shit about Nova Scotia. And they couldn't even get it onto Steam.

And there's a first game? Dude.

I did some digging on it, the dude made 120+ posts over the course of development (all of which were pretty long) about the development. The game has like 100 quests, 300 skills, over 10k lines of dialogue, he made it using XNA and somehow got in on PS4 and PSVita, and did all the modelling himself. I mean it is an incredibly impressive amount of effort regardless of what you think of the quality. Like I actually feel bad lumping it in with the Tiger game because it obviously took a ridiculous amount more effort and thought.

To be honest, this is what I expect of 80% of the kickstarters from people who haven't worked in dev, or were in game dev QA waiting for their break, didn't get it, and decided to kickstart.

That's what makes it so bad. Life of Black Tiger is just your standard-issue lol i maed a gaem for Steam Greenlight game, but Gachduine is some Time Cube level fuckery. This guy spent hundreds of hours on this absolute madness than can't possibly make sense to anyone other than himself. This game is impressively bad.

This really seems like this dude's labor of love. He (tried to) made a battle system for God sake.

But yeah, I think it is so densely convoluted that no one else could ever understand it.

If y'all think Black Tiger/Nova Scotia RPG are the worst games on consoles, you haven't seen SHOOTING GALLERY on the Wii U.

That was a direct response to the basic excercise published as a game form Sho Nuff's post. :B

Anyway! Let's just immerse ourselves in this person's oeuvre. Fair warning, you'll probably want to lower your volume, so be prepared.

The Demon Rush

Skylight
[couldn't find squat due to shit SEO]

Skylight 2: Winter of Discontent

Skylight Freerange

I mean, this person gets shit done, right? And they make progress. Well, there is a progression of effort.

The Skylight series probably has more depth and content than say, Undertale, but it'll never have 1/10th the popularity.

Give them ten (or twenty) more years and they might have that figured out as well.
