I have a family member that posted that. They are very religious and diehard football fans so I don't know what to make of this and the subsequent comment that was attached to the video:

I probably posted that in the other thread but I think my favorite is the one where JFK was shot by the limo driver and you can see it on the Zapruder film.
David Icke forums also had a spell right after that the big tsunami in Japan never happened and all the photos of devastation or boats laying in cities were obvious photoshops.
No planers claims that the planes hitting the WTC were holograms (masking missiles or demo charges).
Another one is the dude claiming that a lot of victims in 9/11 or a few other events (orchestrated by the Masonic Communist Jewry from Zeta Reticuli) are fake -"VicSim"- and their photos and info are created by an algorithm datamining the Internet. Complete with a demonstration that photos of victims from different events sort of look similar if you squint eyes. Grieving relatives are of course paid actors.

The common thread behind all those are the lack of real research and the reliance on a very narrow spectrum of low-definition visual evidence available on the web (most famously dude identifying demolition squibs smoke effect on some macroblocked to hell third generation Youtube video) at the exclusion of reporting and witness testimonies considered as a whole.

Oh and one less outrageous on its face : The imminent US invasion of Iran (that can be declined with a few other targets and perpretators). It veers into cuckoo land when some have been announcing it since the W.Bush days (15 years ago now !). I've seen some fairly reasonable dudes start to go into the rabbit hole over years with this stuff, notably some guy "just asking questions" that the Mohamed Merah killings in France were conveniently preparing an intervention in Syria (in reality France only started airstrikes in Syria 42 months after in wake of the Paris attacks and there was a concerted effort in governement to limit French participation in the coalition to targets in Irak).

Fuck and I just bought a I5 and I7 Kaby for some new builds I've got planned after watching Linus.... My third eye is blown away! That's basically canon in The Bible if you pay attention. There are multiple references to other gods and YWHA is obviously extremely jealous and petty in the OT.  Yahweh was in fact just one in a pantheon of gods in the region who didn't become canonized as THE god until the Babylonian captivity, and even then, a lot of Jews didn't take him seriously until he started smiting them and Moses had to convince him to chill the fuck out and not wipe all the Jews out for being into other shit. Before Exodus (and a few times after), there are multiple references to other gods. Not false idols, but other gods. At least one or two are actually named in some translations. Even after it's made clear that YWHA/Yahweh/Jehovah is the TRUE god, there are multiple references to him being the god of gods, and king of kings for Jesus is basically the same thing.

Can you recommend any books which specifically deal with this concept?

I could recommend Thomas Römer but I'm not sure he's easily accessible in English. But really any recent bible historian / (non-proselyt) exeget will say something about this, or even a Bible with secular annotations. Basically the First Testament is obviously an amalgam of different texts & traditions (for instance the whole Moses and Plagues has a ton of repetitions and competing / diverging narrations within the same paragraph.).

On the whole exegesis coupled to the historic study of the ancient middle east is a fascinating matter. We can't really do justice to it here.

What concept? The origins of the christian god, as a petty god of war from a pantheon of many gods to THE ONE TRUE ONLY god?
I mean, the old testament is basically a retelling of many previous tales. Bears many similarities to the Enuma Elis. The flood, for one.

I recommend "A History of God" by Karen Armstrong. Great book. A guy on youtube made a pretty good short summary as part of his "Why I'm no longer a christian" series. Unfortunately he never finished it.

In regards to the video in the OP, I havent watched it all, but i will say this.

Whatever we know about reality is probably wrong, whether god is real or not makes no difference because the idea of god has left people's hearts. As the world has become more secular, the world has become increasingly more unstable, and im not just talking wars. But the fabric of society, whether people want to admit it or not, is degrading pretty quickly.

You could chalk it up to coincidence, but I am no longer atheist, I am agnostic because i admit my ignorance, and I no longer reject the metaphysical.
