Akira Nishitani put out tons of stuff for a potential Street Fighter EX game. It might sound confusing, but the plan is to drum up hype as if it were an April Fools joke to gauge interest from fans, even though they are serious about pushing forward with this project.

Proposed character art, a trailer, a livestream were all dumped now, and there appears to be plans to have this playable at events. Kaz is supposedly going to be playing this at some point tomorrow.

I wasn't a fan of the EX games, but the game looks damn good for a prototype. The backgrounds and models are way better detailed than SFV, that's for sure.

They had an impressive engine with these characters running on the 3DS of all systems.  Nothing ever came of it.  Would be nice if something happens with this...

Looks like Killer Instinct. It has a very cool 90s look. Hopefully they get funding to make it.

What's the point of EX when SF is now 3D?  :p Looks good and Tekken-ish though.

They don't play the same at all.  Also this is an Arika game.  Doesn't mean it would be a Capcom joint with their characters.  Their last fighting game, Fighting Layer, only had their own characters and was released by Namco.

Calm down  :lol

Back in the day, at least around these parts, the whole point of EX was "polygon street fighter"
But yeah they play totally different.

I really dug the EX series back in the day. They felt like a weird Street Fighter and I loved the goofy ass characters like Skullomania and Garuda.

I was all about Allen Snyder and Blair Dame, who coincidentally were both missing after EX1 and returned in Fighting Layer.

The garbled/broken English voices made it sound like Allen was saying stuff like RISING CHICKEN and SOME FORCE, plus Blair with JEWISH KICK!  :lol

EX1 was the best, IMO.  I liked EX2 too, but didn't like how characters from EX1 were gone.  And then EX3 was a hot mess.  Fighting Layer was pretty good but basically unknown to most people.  I got to play it once in an arcade in Italy of all places.  Last time I checked the emulation still wasn't 100%.  Always found it weird that it never got a home version.
