It's the only thing people will give him money to do

  • It was all going to be very admirable and noble and it would show us - philosophically - what it means to be human.

Unbreakable 2 will confirm all these movies to be part of The Signs Cinematic Universe, when Mel Gibson says to  Paul Giamatti "We really are After Earth now, Airbender-san."

whats split?

Thriller (horror?) about a guy with 23 multiple personalities who kidnaps some people and their attempts to leave.  I haven't seen this but the 'twist' is that
spoiler (click to show/hide)
several of the personalities are more dominant than the rest and inside his head are trying to release a 24th personality, called "The Beast."
[close]

What ties this to Unbreakable is that
spoiler (click to show/hide)
The Beast has super strength, speed, etc. and is basically the Ultimate Marvel version of the Hulk, I.E. a crazy-powerful cannibalistic psycho.  At the end of the movie, there's a cameo with Bruce Willis in character as the guy from Unbreakable watching a news report on the guy, who has been dubbed "The Horde" and then a reference to Mr. Glass is made.

Holy shit. That sounds great.

That's MUCH better than what I assumed the premise would be:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
The kidnap victims are dormant or burgeoning personalities, and the kidnapping is just a metaphoric representation of the fact that they're already stuck in his head.

When I read the plot synopsis, it sounded like M. Night Shamalangadingdong watched some re-runs of Herman's Head and made a movie plot from it.  :doge

If you haven't seen the movie, you really should. Split was amazing.
