Sorry for the awfully worded title, but I'm tired and let's not pretend this isn't a shitpost emporium. Inb4 Kideo Games.

We're a bunch of fucked up deviants, or at least we'd like to pretend to be such online. So what things are you interested in but hesitate to tell people about?

I love reading about serial killers and cults. For whatever reason any documentary, book, adaption, etc. grabs my attention right away, probably because I find them to be the most terrifying shit out there. I don't tend to tell people cause I like the subject of a say, Charles Manson instead of the actual piece of shit himself. One of the reasons I adore Zodiac and think it's Fincher's best movie is how meticulous it was about the details and every little thing that happened, and I'm still shocked they were able to cram all that in what is already a really long run time.

I also really like Occult shit. Growing up where the shit is real and growing out of it later made it like forbidden fruit to me. Dumb shit like demonology books and whatever are interesting to me.

I love old propaganda. Shit is just insane to me. A lot of it is like ads to hate something or kill something. I love learning about how it came about, how it was used, etc.

I love racial subjects when they don't devolve into ancient bullshit like "this is superior and this is inferior blablabla cucks". Like why words became racial slurs, what were the racial demographics of any given area at any given time in history. Who was fucking up who(usually cacs and arabials, by my count). And what culture comes from what area. That stuff. I blame this on being a mutt with a strange background of his own and listening to AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted at the age of 7.

Now you can start judging me.

tl;dr
I'm an edgelord.

Yeeea, I also have a weird obsession with crime (prison/drug/kidnapping/murder/you name it) documentaries.

The scarier, the better. Also love reading about them, not just watching documentaries.

I like reading occultist stuff and lotsa anarchist stuff.

As far as occultist stuff goes, I tend to like Crowley-related stuff because he was a relatively recent figure, so there's a lot of well sourced stuff written about him--bug biographies with plenty of interviews and stuff. I like reading texts about Thelema, but not so much Crowley's own writing--he was kind of shitty at doing the whole mystic-style writing thing.

I also like reading up on witchcraft stuff, including old original texts, commentaries written during and about the times witchcraft was relevant, and the Margaret Murray (and friends) stuff that started the modern witchcraft/wicca movements.

Kinda relevant to both, but I also enjoy demonological texts, although I'm really only super familiar with Ars Goetia, in particular the Lesser Key of Solomon, which I've read a bunch of versions of. It's fun to read up on commentaries on how that stuff evolved. A significant portion of it is, like, Jewish mysticism filtered through Christian Gnosticism filtered through folklore filtered through ARGH MONSTERS.

I also like reading up on Gnosticism. What tickles me about it is that it's this movement that was basically born and killed within 200-300 years just under 2000 years ago, and much of the information we have on it has been discovered in the past 60 years. It's also just a cool little movement with very diverse ideas between its various groups.

I also like staying on top of the sex toy industry.

I went through a phase where I studied Enochian shit and have tons of books about it. I stopped reading up on it but I still find it interesting as fuck.

I also like reading stuff about kids committing murders. That shit is fascinating from a "wow those kids are nuts POV"

I lurk on some pepper forums. I'm not a nut (yet) but they intersect a lot with the gun and strangely enough RC community. They have really interesting threads on DIY type stuff though

- I have a subscription to SiriusXM and I like it

I used to lol at all the bad trip stories on erowid.org.  It was hilarious to read about some random dumbfuck buying "heroin" from a drug dealer, realizing it looks nothing like heroin, and then injecting it into their vein anyway.

I also have three alt accounts on NeoGAF ready to go at the moment that the site becomes worth posting at again.  I've been waiting for at least half a decade for it to happen.  Probably not going to happen.

Dude, I have a SiriusXM account that I haven't even used in two years. Every time they call to renew, I tell them I don't use it anymore and then they offer me a new lower price every year. I'd be an idiot to not keep subscribing.

Old propaganda posters are great. I found some old mammy figures in a smalltown Oregon antiques shops. I prefer the soviet realism posters though for their visual style. However, I've read some real soviet realism literature and its just terrible. Propoganda in art can actually display art, but such in literature rarely rises above the need to shit out its message and morals.

Probably tons of stuff. That I researched Gamergate, Mens Rights, and shit like Kekistan. Things that get me side-eyed here.

Other stuff that's weird that I'm into are just quirks. I love old sci fi art, namely graphic novel and magazine covers from the atomic age up to sci-fi book covers from the 70s and 80s. Have a bunch of files of pre-comics code Strange Tales and Horror covers. I have loved classic toy robots, the metal and tin kind, since I was a boy. I have one remake robot. Would probably buy more if I felt like wasting the cash. I have old Sci Fi inspired vinyls, which might be the most "die alone" thing in my treasure trove.

For example, I have this: https://www.discogs.com/David-Matthews-Dune/release/2280045

A Jazz Fusion album inspired by Frank Herbert's Dune from 1977. I also have the Buck Rogers soundtrack on vinyl. Pure die alone shit.

I'm with you on both of these. I'd never read propaganda because that's the shit that would involve a sit down. Then again, I have no issues watching old propaganda reals for the what the fuckism. The only old piece of propaganda that I really see no value in is the one that gets excuses made for it in film classes, Birth of a Nation. I get that it was high budget for it's time but otherwise I find the argument for it to be shallow. For example I can understand how that one nazi director(forgot his name) helped invent film techniques in his reels but I don't so much see it with Birth of a Nation, and I'm the guy who loves silent movies.

Old pulp magazines is something I would collect the shit out of if I had cash for sure. Love those.

If you ever want to ogle old pulp mag covers, just google image search their Name + Cover.

I'm fascinated by propaganda and its symbols. Nazi and North Korean iconography fascinates me. It's like these symbols hold an aura of power for those who were subjected to them, yet physically these items still exist. If someone is scooting around town with a Nazi symbol or a Confederate flag I can't roll my eyes hard enough, but period memorabilia from the era of influence captures my attention.

Weird porn.

And pinball.

I can't imagine explaining twitch to anyone and having it make sense. It's basically replaced live tv for me. Whenever I'm cooking or washing dishes I load up twitch and see what's on. I'm also a huge fan of YA fiction with girl protagonists (tamora pierce is my jam!) and its a decent chunk of my audible library.

Those two, and my pornhub searches :-[

Mostly just vidya and weeb shit for me, so pretty boring.

Like every other edgelord at the time I spent a lot of time on Ogrish back in highschool, watching videos of people kill themselves or die many horrible ways. Pretty standard shit in the current age of the internet.

When I was a teenager, I assumed that I would give up the internet when I was in college.  When I was in college, I assumed that I would give up the internet when I had a "real" job.  When I had a "real" job, I realized I didn't see a point in "giving up" the internet so I didn't.  I spend a lot less time online than I used to but I'll probably always be shitposting somewhere on the internet until I'm dead.

I think posting on forums will generally give you side eye IRL. I know I had a relationship that was strained by my browsing of GAF. My ex kept saying that they're a bunch of losers and nerds. She wasn't wrong.

I am heavily into metal music. Been playing guitar since I was 16 (I'm 34 now), played in bands. Had long hair when I was younger until I started balding. I don't have any tats or wear any band shirts nowadays so nothing outwardly gives it away. Thankfully I work with a bunch of misfits (restaurant industry) so I don't get side eye when I put my music on at work.

It's certainly the one I know best, since it's my favorite and I use it a lot (not to mention, it pays.)

I'm decently comfortable in Java (via Android), Dart, JSX, and a bit of Ruby and Python. Built a shitty game in C#/XNA back in the day too.

There's a couple reasons I like JS:

- New features in ES2015+ are well needed and convince me things are moving in a good direction. Classes, modules, etc. I even gave a presentation at work on these features.
- Functions being so light is great and lets me write expressive, asynchronous, and atomic code.
- Node is great and I can easily now build solid backend apps and APIs. It's used by Firebase for Cloud Functions which is my current backend go-to.
- Electron lets me make desktop apps. (Slack, Atom, Spotify)
- JS has literally eaten the world and there's a plethora of solutions out there to any problem I might run into.
- JSON is da best data format. SQL and XML can go pound sand.

Giant Robots and wanting to build a museum in California about them or at least do a traveling art exhibit for them. The licensing costs would be crazy though for like Tetsujin 28, Mazinger, RX-78 Gundam, etc...
But if money didn't matter I would so do it.

Also would like to teach a college class on the history of Giant robot animation.

So yeah, Giant Robots for me.

My plushie collection from when I was 12 years old was somewhere around 30-40 stuffed animals of various sizes. I had a shelf running around all the walls of my room in order to display them. Even my lamp was a plushie koala holding a baby koala.

i take that back, i think i watched some read or die...and i've obviously seen some lupin when it was on adult swim and spirted away and akira ages ago

to be honest, i actually haven't really ever tried to watch anime, not intentionally, more rather it's just like i have such a backlog already of so much else that any suggestion from someone would just get thrown on the end of the pile

my roommate friend was in the university's anime club which i quickly discovered was merely a cover story for relationships and drinking, that's how i watched read or die, a couple of them came over without alcohol and were being their very boring selves playing something on their DS but had put it on

then later my friend told me it was like episode six forward or something and i was like that explains so much about why it seemed like a secret fascinating mystery to me rather than an actual series

to respond to the threads question, i've been surprised that most of the stuff that i would think this about actually seems to get people thinking i'm incredibly smart and a rational adult who just happens to read a lot and thus has all kinds of weird knowledge

i've read the serial killer entries on wikipedia, in fact, i think not only did we talk about this on the bore before but i know there's been GAF threads about it where some of us have talked about them and some secret favorites...but like when i tell somebody about something like that they're always "oh man, i wish i had the time and ability to learn about so much like you do" and it's not like these people have actual lives either except they hate reading

i feel like porn is the last horizon and mainly only because of cultural hangups, like i have that knowledge or stuff about porn and people and the industry that doesn't even interest me sexually but i've somehow consumed it and can recall it...i think that's the only one for me

one time back when the game came out i had the maintenance dudes for the apartment in for something routine they have to do, and i was playing borderlands when they came, and the one guy asked me what i was playing and i told him and initially it felt like it was one of those old conversations about video games where they're being friendly but neither guy has any clue but i started to describe it and he was like "oh yeah, my buddy is playing tons of that and told me i should pick it up for my 360 so we could co-op"...dude was like a near 40 year old black guy (though his 25 year old cac helper guy had no clue what we were talking about and just said "wow, i just play madden") and that was kinda like the final death of playing video games being weird to me when talking to "normies"

also when i found out a whole bunch of "normal" people were caught up in livejournal drama* shit and early thefacebook drama, i kinda got over forums because i can tell you all sorts of shit about GAF, but i don't need to know any of that

*which i just realized is now youtube drama

in this case i have to disappoint because i mean stuff like knowing people's names, like when the James Deen stories came out, just knowing him and Joanna Angel and some of the other people mentioned

or say, that infamous IGN video, knowing names before they put them up or say...just knowing Bobbi Starr is amazing in so many ways beyond video games:

They had an auction for their props a few months back. If I would've known sooner, I would've gone. They were selling all sorts of hot shit like urinals and dildo drill things.

Stop making papa Chrono sad.
Why would he be sad?! He gets to be the silver fox of the forums.
In fact, I am not sad about posting here, though I do believe several of my friends have literally side-eyed me for participating in an online forum. Some of these are friends who spend unreasonable amounts of time on facebook, so I am IMMUNE to them. The guys who don't participate in those forums (fora) are much more damaging to my psyche, because I KNOW I could be doing better work if I spent more time on self-education and less here with you dopes. My balance is getting better though.

FMA Brotherhood is perhaps the most satisfying shonen I've watched. Shame you don't realize that Wrath. :(

I never watched the anime, but the manga was great.
