it looks like only Excalibur 1 is required. Excalibur 2 should be easy to get by using the speed up option. still, that is a brutal trophy list. you have to do all the other sidequests, plus tedious bullshit like 100 card games and 1000 times at the jumprope wtf. definitely will need a guide too since there's tons of missables.

there's a speed up option, and other ports let you turn off the super long battle intros that were there to hide loading on ps1.

Only thing that really held FFIX back for me was the battle speed. And the fact that I actually paid for the worst strategy guide in the history of mankind. Haven't played in years and forgot a lot about the scenario, so I'm gonna pick this up. Still wish they had PS1 classics on PS4 tho.

Same. I really enjoyed IX in 2000, but haven't been able to get through to Disk 2 since because of that ATB speed.

someone found out that if you give omega weapon a potion, he skips a turn. so if you have someone with higher speed than omega, you can spam potions and he'll never get a single turn in! pretty cool.

My major complaint as a teen is obvs fixed now (sooo slooow), but the more traditional steampunk fantasy never really grabbed me either. Will lap up high concept sci fi emo shit all day though.
