Another example. Steve Youngblood. Who is the nicest dude and tries to be cool with us, even has Detective Chimp as his avatar which is his most important quality. He was a regular here and on GAF. He became a moderator at GAF.
And while people here did go at him for mod stuff since then, he knows it's just a general outlet and many don't hold him personally responsible for GAF moderation actions and policies, it's just that GAF's opaque system of accountability meant he was one of the few connections within the blanket people could target, let alone even ask about shit like Amir0x to stuff like bans.
Instead, we created a cult (er...wait....hold on this makes us look like it's a recurring thing here) in which he was an insane tyrant Blood God who was bringing forth torrents of blood on NeoGAF.com as part of his larger, more sinister plan (newbs to the Steve Youngblood religion tend to forget this post-GAF part) because we love Steve and he's totally not that at all. (Also, he was tied to Shadow Mod, Devolution's secret endgame plan that she's preparing to unleash on all men. But that one could only be revealed here in the Safe Space where Devo outlined it in exhaustive detail.)
Here's how certain now gone members of PoliGAF took me, and me alone, a known LONG CON TROLL GAME juvenile, repeating this injoke from The Bore on there by warning others about him when they'd talk about mod drama/laments. They literally believed it and I saw them repeating that he was a dangerous mod to cross to others ELSEWHERE including off GAF. And even after my having moved on from GAF except occasionally and then my permaban, I've seen Steve Youngblood warnings repeated in threads on GAF, on reddit, etc.
Which now that it's all over and thinking back, I do have to say, kudos to both Kev and shinsha for never swatting that down and defending Steve whenever I started it up, generally in LATE NIGHT PoliGAF.
