My review of THE STATEMENT directed and written by Tyler Malka:
In this salacious story of sex, drugs, and cults, Malka weaves a chaotic picture of the dynamics of modern dating against the backdrop of 2015 New Orleans involving Malka, who described himself as Mark Zuckerberg, a psychotic Austin director (she's bi), and Malka's lady friend. What starts out as a road trip ends with sexual accusations against the director himself and the shutdown of his videogame enthusiast website after meandering through Scientoloy-type sex cults, roofies, and a sick naked woman (she's bi) in the shower in this semi-autobiographical film that somehow ends up crazier than Max Landis' ME HIM HER. I give this four out of five stars.
