neogaf was never an s j w site and if you think the views expressed were particularly radical you need to get out more
I think part of the thing is that see the really radical views it takes staying in more and scouring even deeper corners of the web. The group-think on GAF certainly was not textbook stuff by any means. It was its own niche of populist social issues left-wing politics.
Most people in real life don't act like the Slayvens, Lime's, Yass Queens, and the Amiorox's of the internet either.
Hell most people aren't like I am either. They are complex barely politically active people that go about their lives and often have weirdly contradictory views like some casual racism but loved them some Obama, think Climate Change may be a hoax and chem trails real, but want UHC and think Gary Johnson has some good ideas, but just sort of vote down a party line when the time comes.
