Mostly in for Sony games from Japan Studio or more obscure titles, newer Naughty Dog titles and David Cage games make me cringe. PS1/2 are classic because of their 3rd party offerings, not 1st party. Crash has always been good though (the Kart game is better than Mario even).

Funny to see you here, SpielerEns. Going to REEra or sticking around here?

No the kart game isn't better than Mario Kart  :ufup

And crash was always shit. First person I ever heard say otherwise uttered that nonsense 2016. Can't have Sony fans go messing up history and create time paradoxes.

Closest kart game to Mario Kart was Sega all-star racing transformed but MK8D beats it.

Mechanically Crash Team Racing is still better than even MK8. :patel

On the front page of GAF gaming, there are 40 threads, and the last post on the 40th thread is 43 minutes old.

On the front page of Reset gaming, there are 53 threads, and the last post on the 53rd thread is only 11 minutes old. (The 40th thread on Reset Gaming is only 6 minutes old).  :heh

https://www.resetera.com/threads/examples-of-when-a-gif-has-sold-you-on-a-game.1103/

Time to blow those caches of dank Killzone 2 gifs.

Any of you Sony fans help me understand.

Why did you cling to such a mediocre game series? I mean at least it isn't Haze but Jesus have some standards.

All(95%) Sony 1st party games are trash who are only made to appeal to MUH ART people and feature "deep" "cinematic" "mature" themes but are pretentious as fuck.

Unsharted? generic TPS walking simulator filled with QTE
The Worst of Us? generic TPS walking simulator filled with "mature" themes
nuDad of War? generic 3rd person thing with more focus on story than hack n slash (Sony said this themselves, look it up)
Horizon Zero Originality? A mix of Far Cry and nuTomb Raider with worst aspects of both. but it's GoTY because it's progressive

This is why I am a PC+Nintendo masterrace.

 :rofl :rofl

i love the gaf sony elites. "walking simulator" is about every single game Sony puts out now. I barely consider them games. I'd love nothing more than Sony to get what it deserves just like the Gaf did.

Sony Western First Party Hasnt been that good in years even though Last of Us worked for what it was.

Crash Team Racing is indeed the best kart racing game, pretenders need not apply.

I think it’s cute how they pretty much just took everything from GAF including that stupid content policy. I don’t think they actually thought about any of this. It’s like people who trace a drawing and learn from it vs people who trace a drawing and never even think about how the original artist did it.

That’s my tortured metaphor for the day.

Piggy backing off this, the most  :cmonson aspect of GAF Zero to me is that, when given the chance for a new website with new rules, new culture and a different way of running things, both the site creators proceeded to copy almost everything about the old website from its TOS, its forum layout and the naming schemes for stuff (OTs, community threads, the OT OT, _____GAF to refer to communities). Not a single thought went into trying to make something different that actually stands out which, if vanilla GAF ever props itself up again, are things the site will actually need to differentiate itself.

I'll just post here if I feel the need to rip on a game without getting told that I'm being too mean to video games.  :idont

GAF was never liberal so much as it was corporatist.

Like corporations, they both care more about how social issues would impact how others perceive them. They both say the right things, occasionally do the minimum required to seem like they care (be it announcing diversity policies or posting and moaning about usually arbitrary injustices on a message board). When it came to issues that would actually impact people's lives, like financial issues, neither give a fuck. In GAF's case (and now ResetERA), they simply didn't give a flying fuck. In a (large) corporation's case, they would actively attempt to stop those any changes that would positively impact the rest of society, as it means less for them.

Which is all a roundabout way of saying fuck social issues, focus on economic issues first and foremost and use that upward momentum that increased economic stability provides to improve the lives of minority groups.

Which is an ever rounder-abouter way of saying fuck Hillary Clinton, Bernie would have won against Trump and brought more positive change in 4 years than the Clintons would have in 16, and Jack is still in deep denial about this.

They had a lot of (faux-) left extremists but I don't know about actual left people. I can't say I saw much "progressive" in whining about videogame character designs all day, harrassing people over it and doing tinfoil-hatted purity tests on everyone who understood how nonsensical these "endeavors" were.

Bernie supporters being demonized on that site says it all imo.

Because race divides people.  You cannot build a block through divsion, or at least I don’t know how to do that.  Do you?

Races divides people because the rich like it that way.

Real talk, Nintendo stans on GAF were always the extreme vocal minority and on a constant jealousy streak when it came to other partd of the site. Perfectly functioning threads for other platforms would sometimes get broken up or merged together because they would run up to complain to mods abouy why Nintendo versions of those topics couldn't exist. The merger of the monthly Vita threads and the weekly PSN update threads that Kassatsu ran, and the merger's eventially closing, were victims of this.

The real answer, of course, is that when they were made, no one posted in them. I lost track of how many times they tried to prop up General/Community threads for Nintendo franchises or general news topics on stuff like Wii / Wii U digital downloads and all of them were deserted within the month or were utterly anemic for long periods of time. But of course, since they couldn't have it,  no one was allowed to.

(Don't even get me started on when Ninthings started to make individual OTs for every new VC release due to dearth on new releases on their systems, or when certain posters thought making an individual thread for every single new Hyrule Warriors trailer were good ideas).

Please don't insult other users. Even mods

So they don't consider mods as "other users"? Good to know there's a social hierarchy as well.

If you think Neogaf wasn't liberal or left you are in serious denial.

I think the point is they weren’t pushing a leftist economic agenda so much as playing the identity politics game.  That’s where the banning and dogpiling came from at least.

They constantly shit on Bernie Sanders for being "too focused on economic inequality."

ResetEra just opened public registration and the site is getting crushed (but still loads, albeit slowly).

Hey NeoGAF, ur ded.  :success

They messed up the email verification. I tried a .edu and xfinity email and both were denied.

Fixed now.

It was also full of people totally immune to the bystander effect with 12 inch dicks and the perfect logical solutions to everything who wondered whether eating alone was weird

Evilore has 75 inch.

Take it from the guy who had more PoliGAF posts than everyone else on this page combined: we talked about left-wing economics all the time. All the damn time!

Where do people get the idea that we didn't?

Poligaf was in insular little bubble. Discussion of economic policy never spread out to the wider forum at all. Nobody cared to discuss it, unless it was "fuck this Republican tax plan" or something to that extent.

I think it’s cute how they pretty much just took everything from GAF including that stupid content policy. I don’t think they actually thought about any of this. It’s like people who trace a drawing and learn from it vs people who trace a drawing and never even think about how the original artist did it.

Gaf had some really good design decisions: Not splitting things up into 50 sub forums, almost no tolerance for megathreads (new news new thread), a clean layout, and no post counter under a persons avatar avatar]

None of what you described is a good design choice....

Races divides people because the rich like it that way.

Brake them to break the cycle.

This I agree with. But you can only break the cycle by financially empowering those in poverty.

It's because on just about every single issue, he tied it back to economic inequality. I don't call him the Derek Zoolander of politics for no reason.

I'm sure he'd be great on social policy too, far far better than Trump or any Republican. He just wasn't great at talking about it.

You forgot to post the link to the post where you described him as Derek Zoolander of politics.  :bobby

And to do that you have to weaken the rich and educate the masses on why racism and classicism is bad, otherwise we end up with a new class of rich and powerful to exploit the next group. Racism doesn't exist in a vacuum.

I'm a big Nintendo fan and the good thing about GAF was that the shills made me realize that I'm "only" a fan, but not a corporate cocksucker. I remember the time when the first Nintenstans openly announced that they put me on ignore, because prior to launch I suggested that WiiU could very likely be a Vita-esque flop and that Nintendo's communication pointed towards many droughts/delays.  :doge

Meanwhile, they apparently loved Emily Roger's constantly false dreamey Nintendo rumours so much that she became an admin, lol.

Nah I'd rather point and laugh at people pretending that neogaf wasn't liberal and leftwing. Also at the people who live in another reality where neogaf wasn't infested by Sony MVP's shills who numbered more than all others and would earn neogaf the name sonygaf everywhere.

oh shit GAF off topic is back, I didn't even realize. Did evilore hire RinsFurry and RPGCrazied as mods yet? He doesn't have the manpower to patrol all four boards.
