Male feminist will be the next big meme, look out for it.

Male feminists just need to rebrand. In the end, they are just young guys trying to get laid the only way they know how. They shouldn't be hated on.

'Alt-bros' sounds better.

I've seen some of them rebrand to "soft boys" now and I don't think anybody wants to be called that.

I thought soft boys was an insult?

His description of the moderation change seems really empty. Are they still going to be nameless anonymous accounts that nobody will no who they are? Because that's the opposite of transparency. Or are they people he's hiring ("hiring") to do literally nothing but moderate?

He did qualify the transparency:

Quote
Moderators will now have a more active, transparent presence in guiding discussions

So I assume that means this kind of presence:

Quote
The problem with the The Last of Us Part II trailer wasn't necessarily the content, but the context. Everyone of all ages was watching that stream, and if the only warning was a rating range from RP to M at the beginning of the show, then the violence displayed was excessively graphic. Especially as a cap to their presentation. It's okay for a game to be "adult," but that's an opt-in. Please keep this in mind as the discussion moves forward.

To be honest, a lot of those changes are changes that GAF needed for a long while. It just sad that it had to take an apocalyptic situation for Tyler to get off his lazy ass and do them. Unfortunately for him, I think it is too little too late.

I hope he's planning on downsizing his lifestyle, because the ad revenue he enjoyed even just a month ago ain't coming back. Going to have start living more frugally.

It's rare to see a person be so out of touch as Tyler Malka. It's baffling really. The guy is a rapey caricature at this point.

No apology to the countless of women he has assaulted.
No apology to the community
No apology to his ex mods
No apology to the people he has shunned in his life.

Just a rapey, misogynistic, megalomaniacal asshole.

If ever you needed proof that Malka is so fucking stupid and out-of-touch with reality, here it is.

Everyone didn't leave because of moderation -- when Besada admitted that NeoGAF had a massive bias towards certain posters and they looked for reasons to ban posters they deemed "bad", nobody left.

Everyone didn't leave because of the archaic forum software -- when NeoGAF was hacked, nobody left, when SSL was enabled and then promptly disabled, nobody left.

Everyone didn't leave because of the quality of OT -- they fucking loved OT and the safe space echo chamber that it became.

Everyone left because of Tyler fucking Malka, and his almost unimaginable out-of-touch grasp on reality.

Again, Tyler, everyone left because of you!

Watching this Dennis pod and he's talking about how devs avoided that place and he's not the only dev who has said this.

So Stinkles tying him himself to that place is really weird. It wasn't like he took part in threads relevant to his game, but he was full in on the kool-aid.

These kind of people only want equal representation in video games if its a big-boned heroine who likes cats, binges netflix in bed on the weekends and "does all the things".

As an aside, my favourite female character in a game is Bayonetta, she's awesome.

Yeah, you pretty much nailed it. In fact, I'd go one step further and say that nothing will ever be good enough in terms of representation.

Look at this "review" of the new South Park game from the weekend. I've pulled a section that just made me smash my head hard on the desk:

Quote
As soon as I left the school, a gang of rednecks drove up in a truck, stating they didn't take kindly to "this thing" before tossing me into a fight. It's tempting to credit the writers for one rare moment of awareness: transphobic violence is rarely discussed in media, and in games, it's mostly dished out for the player's amusement. How would a cis player react if they saw their trans character face discrimination?

I cross-referenced my playthrough with other reports and discovered something far more upsetting: No matter what gender you choose in the counselor's office, the rednecks will always find an excuse to start trouble: "Hey, it's that boy," they'll shout. "They're cisgendered too!" "We don't take kindly to your types around here." Rather than commenting on the danger we face when we choose to live publicly, the writers turned our fear into a cheap gag, rendering the confrontation toothless.

So, just to recap.... the trans character was treated in exactly the same way as the cis character and it still was not good enough.

If you're a games developer, no matter what you do, you will never be woke enough for these lunatics.

The redneck gag was pretty funny and I took it as rednecks are dumb and consider anything with fancy terms an affront to their being.

One of the final fights with them the redneck pretty much adds together all of your pronouns and the other guy is like "what the fuck?" "dialogue trees man"

I'd argue that distributing revenge porn counts as sexual abuse too, so add another to the list. With that said, it's true that we only know a few, but seeing how he has responded to allegations now and in the past, the way he sexually objectifies women, the way he talks about abusing women as a way to assert dominance and power, there is no doubt in my mind that he has a history of this sort of behavior. There's usually a pattern.

He's done some shit.

NeoGAF’s stringent and discerning cast of moderators were what made the forum’s culture so appealing to gamers who weren’t seduced by harsher forum climates. If forums are businesses, and moderators are essential to their function, shouldn’t they be viewed more as employees than volunteers, and receive cash compensation?

Quote
One long-time NeoGAF moderator, Besada, agreed that moderation qualifies as work, but said that a Christmas gift or, at best, a tiny share in profits would be ideal. Others I spoke with confirmed that even having enough spare time to moderate forums often means living a more luxurious life than people who might have to string together a few part-time gigs to stay afloat. A few extra bucks extracted from a gaming forum’s coffers wouldn’t add much to their quality of life, many moderators told me. “For most of the moderators, the level of pay wouldn’t make much of a difference,” said Besada, who said he spent anywhere from 15 to 30 hours moderating NeoGAF a week on top of his IT career. “Most of us were professionals with good jobs.”

Besada claiming he was only on GAF for 15-30 hours a week is a hilarious lie.

I want to say one thing about the stupidity of these SSW movements and of more importance, the stupidity and hardheadedness of what these liberals in Hollywood and somewhat in Wall Street have done to their businesses.

If no one knows what Sinclair Broadcasting Is, i feel really, fucking sorry for all of you. Because in the middle of the country - with both coastal intelligentsia and pundit class dont care too much since the end of the original On the Road segments with Charles Kurult aired, Sinclair started to grow, bit by bit and became the 3rd largest station group in the US.

Tribune was sort of a syndication repository - not a network but having a large enough history in the cities that were in (WGN being the most important one). This is where Hollywood made their BIG BUCKS, in syndication. Tribune still is the place where all those Sag/Aftra checks still getting paid out. This is how before Cable grew (because of the Monday Night Wars) Actors and Actresses got rich.

Tribune, despite all of its hangups and bankruptcy was the Goose That Laid These Massive Golden Eggs for the liberals to have all these parties, and what we now see as sex pesting.

For nobody in Silicon Valley, Nobody in these major league venture capitalist firms that lean liberal, not even fucking Amazon to even look at Tribune to make sure that thing like Tribune would not go into the hands something even more conservative than Fox News, is tantamount to the reasons why the Democratic Party is literally in civil war and if they lose anymore seats during the midterm elections, they will be dead come January 2019.

Sinclair is about to become the largest station group in the history of US TV. They are about to own WGN Superstation, and has plans to turn it into a more right wing version of Fox News and they have already BUILT out the studios to do it in Washington and Baltimore.

The FCC has already give station groups the go ahead to outsource local news operations to central locations. This was to help Sinclair cut down on overhead with their local news operations everywhere else.

And now, with the recent announcement that Tribune will not look for a new CEO after next year, Sinclair is so confident they will get Tribune.

With that now a fait-acompli and with Hollywood burning with there own scandals, Sinclair will look clean in the eyes of the ad agencies and they will run roughshod over the retransmission fees of the majority of their stations.

That also leads into the issue concerning what Fox Local stations are going to do - half of the stations are run by Sinclair and both of them are catty as fuck. You think purity tests are bad on the left you should see Conservatives, example the Katrina Coverage back in 2005 and the election in 2016 when Orelley was drunk half the damn time because Trump was on a roll.

Fox and ION Stations are planning to join forces once the Sinclair deal goes through. Which means they will grow in to the number two slot - and a lot of stations that have NFL rights via Fox, would be stunned when they are moved to some station they never even heard before!

All of this would have been stopped in the bud, if these "male feminists" most of them in Silicon Valley and Hollywood would stop putting Pussy As God/Pussy On A Pedestal, and realized there Golden Syndication Goose was about to be taken by those who see this country with a more populist, theocratic lens.

Quote

He did get paid but in food.

You don't know that, you have no evidence of that, and there is no need to exaggerate what EviLore did. He has enough sins.

I'll say that the photo thing was the worst thing he did.

The other two, I mean if you hear that a drunk guy grabbed a drunk girl's ass at a club during a massive party, yeah it's not right but it's not a HOLY SHIT stop the presses moment. As for the shower, hilarious memes aside, and some of them were amazing, a drunken misread of a situation, which it likely was does not a sexual predator make. It doesn't. In fact not a soul would care if he wasn't EviLore, and frankly shit like this would normally be no one's fucking business except him and the girl. Internet drama is what it is.

EviLore never being able to y'know read the appropriate response to a situation made things worse, because that's what he do. After this game out, in an era of peak moral outrage, there was no way those mods were staying. Him shutting down GAF Hurt the site, but the blow had already been dealt, without any semblance of control the entire site went tits up.  To be honest though, I just don't think there was much he could have done with the set of mods he had once the news went out. He just exceeded expectations in what was possibly the worst asnwer to a sexual misconduct allegation this side of Kevin Spacey.
