Now that gaf is dead, I'll just have to shit post about the Vita here. :rejoice

My pickups this weekend:

Getting closer to a full NA Retail Collection. Well, still got about 100 to go, but over halfway anyway.

daft question maybe, but anything decent come out in  the last couple years or so? I got a replacement a few months ago.

I was a proper Vita evangelist during 2014-15 and don't regret it

Mostly disgusting weeb shit. But there are some outliers like Ys and Danganronpa. Summon Night 6 finally got a release date from Vic Ireland.

I see these on the cheap pretty frequently and am always tempted to grab one. I do regret not buying a PSVita TV when they were US$30 on the amzons.

As far as exclusives go, it's mostly otome visual novels now. Collar x Malice and Bad Apple War recently got released, I haven't played them yet but I've heard they're at least decent.

The major releases are all mostly on the PS4 as well, but having said that the Vita ports of Ys 8 and Danganronpa V3 are both excellent. Ys 8 is probably one of the most technically proficient games I've seen on the Vita since the salad days of first party titles at least.

Collar X Malice is amazing. I hate Otome games because the protagonists usually ends up being the worst kind of dumb broad stereotypes, but CxM was just so great. Of course I'm a sucker for Detective stories so..  ;)

Bad Apple Wars is something I'm playing through now, it's... bleh.

I have a huge Vita collection, physical and digital. Should take a pic sometime I suppose. Currently playing through Bad Apple Wars, and Dungeon Travelers 2. Got Chaos;Child on the way, I love my Vita tbh.

Edit: I have a bunch of imports as well. Bullet Girls 1 and 2, Gun Gun Pixies, and a bunch of VN's like Fate/Stay, the Grisaia trilogy, and Gundam Seed Battle Destiny.

Stableish? As I recall the PS3 HD collection was a stable 60FPS, but the Vita version was cut down to 30 and the V-sync goes on/off depending on situation. I actually think DigitalFoundry did an analysis of Vita version but I can't google it atm sorry.

Sekai Project sucks so hard. I don't think any of their Vita stuff has released yet. Grisaia never ever.  :'(

On the bright side looks like we'll get VA-11 Hall-A next month from Wolf Games America. Or at least an announcement for December.

Same here, though I got the PS4 Version and from Amazon. Chaos;Child will be here for me tomorrow on Vita, and I think the last physical Vita game of the year will be Tokyo Tattoo Girls from NISA. At least for me. I can't be arsed to keep up with LRG's Vita stuff.

The PS4 has like 3 different versions but I think it's just character art on the disc which changes? I got the Imu version myself.
=======

Finished and got the plat for Bad Apple Wars. I didn't like it that much tbh. Collar X Malice was way better. But why is it always otome games that get localized anyway? Wouldn't an English copy of say, F/SN sell like... way better?

Wish JAST would take a crack at Digital Vita titles, would replay FLOWERS and a few other titles from them.

Last game I bought was Tokyo Xanadu and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Can't say I play it too often though, especially since the switch has taken over my mobile gaming. Definitely has a lot of gems though.

No PS4 or didn't wanna wait for Xanadu+? Since you loved the Vita one, if you do have a PS4, will you be playing it again?

Ah, if so, that would make sense. MGS 3 has way more dense/open areas. But I really seem to recall MGS 2 being 30ish on Vita?  :-\ The Tanker especially was such a weird first impression, I switched to the PS3 version asap.

I went with Amu myself, had to check.  Yeah it's only the art that's different.  Neat that they did it that way though.

I imagine the F/SN asking prices are astronomical, and there's enough male-focused wank material style games out there as it is so may as well get that underserved english fujoshi market a run.  I'm not that into VNs myself though.  I'll probably give chaos child a try when it's on sale / after I finish the steins gate / 0.

Bought Steamworld Dig 2 on PS4 not realizing it was crossbuy on the Vita.  Didn't think it was even coming out for it.  I've played through it a couple times on Vita and haven't touched the PS4 version.
I imagine it's better on the Switch in some way, but the Vita version feels pretty flawless.

Bunch of Vita weeb shit on sale

Tempted to get Operation Babel, but I haven't even touched Operation Abyss yet. Otherwise I pretty much own all of these already.  ;)

If you liked Psycho Pass anime, I highly recommend the VN. Aside from reading, it also has a fun mini-game with blocks which if you care about trophies you'll be forced into anyway.

God Wars and Grand Kingdom are both really good SRPG's.

If it's a Vita 2K, any mini-USB cable should do. Just be sure to turn on USB charging in the settings provided it has any juice left to turn on.

If it's not a 2K, rest in pepperonis. Dunno what Sony was thinking with the original's proprietary bullshit.

There's some kind of adapter you can get for Vita proprietary bullshit port to Micro USB

https://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/76tslg/i_bought_a_vita_1000_to_micro_usb_and_would/

From there just use a tablet charger, a phone charger (1A) might not have enough juice.

I went to a local mom and pop for the first time recently since I was in need of new Vita games but GameStop closed their doors here a few years ago, so no retail store here stocks them. Dissapointed cuz all they had were like 5-6 launch period games that people had given in for trade in. Means I have to pay extra to ship my weeb drivel home from now on.  :'(

Japanese titles left-to-right: Bullet Girls, Bullet Girls 2, Gun Gun Pixies, Gundam Seed Battle Destiny, Hatsune Miku PDf (i imported before SEGA announced localization), Senran Kagura SV (imported before localization announcement), last 3 = Grisaia VN trilogy. Up top is Dokuro.

I have a few more scattered about like White Album 2, Fate/Stay, Fate/Hollow, etc...

VA11-HALL-A just shipped on Vita, I am playing it and it's good

Does it have English language support?

Oh yeah, I think the dev is Venezuelan. I had to change the parental control settings in order to play it though, freaking weird.

The reason why I'm asking is because it got a physical release today in Japan (where I assume it's Japanese only). It's only on PSN in other regions.

I heard about the parental control thing from one of the Youtube channels I watch. Apparently it's the first game to be classified a "10" by Sony's internal rating system (parental controls default to "9" even if they haven't been set) because of gratuitous use of the word "cunt".  :doge

There's multiple endings, but they're stackable (can get multiple good endings in one go) and the only bad ending involves not being able to pay the final debt, which only gives you that ending and stops all the others.

Apparently Demon Gaze 2 came out the same day as VA-11 HALL-A. Anyone picked it up? I loved the first game so I'm curious to know if its decent.

Ah, if so, that would make sense. MGS 3 has way more dense/open areas. But I really seem to recall MGS 2 being 30ish on Vita?  :-\ The Tanker especially was such a weird first impression, I switched to the PS3 version asap.

Late post, but IIRC MGS2 is 30 in outdoor areas (to prevent drops or something) and 60 indoors. It had a variable framerate like that or something, compared to the solid 60 the PS3 version had.
