Should've sold that pump. :trumps

I'd say it'll rise again during autumn assuming bitcoin doesn't plummet down to $3000 or lower this year.

None of these currencies are showing positive long-term growth, so it's probably the same small group of people constantly buying and selling coins to each other to try to maintain the illusion of interest.

If Wile E Coyote never realized that he was running on thin air, but just kept going, would he have fallen eventually? Bitcoin seeks to answer that question.

It's going to enable off-chain processing for ETH, but their endgame is edge/fog computing. It's essentially next-gen cloud infrastructure, which by the way is being developed by iExec, IBM, Microsoft, Samsung, Intel and CISCO_FUCKING_SYSTEMS. Why is this huge? Well. 80% of the world's data is handled by Cisco routers and switches. Now iExec is working with all these behemoths side-by-side @ OpenFog consortium. If these guys want to push new tech, you'd be an absolute distinguished mentally-challenged fellow betting against them.

Imagine you're a datacenter. Now what does it cost to run it all? Literally hundreds of millions to build it and then some more to keep it running. Now imagine you could provide hosting and computing (Amazon Web Services, Netflix runs on it for example), without having to build a huge fucking datacenter. You just rent any goddamn hardware that is idling anywhere in the world to provide your service.

Now, you don't pay for infrastructure. So you cut your prices down. You become appealing to customers. You grow. You become the airBnB and Uber of data networks/service providing.

What do you need the tokens for, you might ask? Well let my *incoherently screeching*-as-fuck ass tell you.
It's to pay the hardware owners for computational cycles. Just like mining, but actually doing work and not wasting electricity for frivolous shit.

Oh, this sort of network model is also ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL to IoT, since it kills all sorts of problems associated with latency and security. FUCK. This project makes my dick hard.
http://boards.4chan.org/biz/thread/9976984

I don’t think the majority of home PCs and connections are well-suited to being servers.

It might work ok for certain types of works but I don’t think it won’t be able to replace true data centers at scale. Basically, this sounds like it would only work for things that don’t need a ton of data but need a ton of processing, and I’m not sure how many things truly fall into this.

I’m pretty sure that most machine learning algorithms don’t, certainly big database queries don’t. You’d basically need things that are essentially folding at home but has commercial potential.

Aha! Blofeld's other cat running the bitcoin show makes sense. When do we get to the part where we find out that Satoshi Nakamoto is actually the head of Spectre, and bitcoin is his attempt to blow up the world's currency market?

Any tips on what opportunities there are to running programs on a pc and generate money? Since i don't pay for electricity(part of the fixed rent) i probably could earn some extra money? Though this is a crypto thread i assume you guys know about other alternatives.  :D

If you're in the dumps I would just hold until it gets better so you can get your investment back.

It doesn't make much sense to get out when you're going to make a loss.
Chances it'll reach the all time highs again anytime soon are low but if you didn't get in that late you should be able to at least get back what you've invested.

Unless all your money is in some weird niche meme coin.  :doge

I've been gradually pulling out small amounts during peaks these past few months just to decrease the risk. But overall I'm holding on (and still in the green actually, although ETH is taking a beating)

It is not time to lay down nor look down.

It is time to rise.

IOTA, they crashed it.

ETH, they crashed it.

BTC, they crashed it.

When is enough, ENOUGH?

Institutional money has entered a market. They are here.

They are using advanced strategies to trigger our stop losses.

This is not one battle.

This is a war.

On all of us.

We all have to work together. Share strategies. Come up with new ones.

Forget which coin is better.

We are fighting for our right to decentralization.

If we do not work together, we will all get rekt.

We have to all have an open discussion about this.

It starts right here. Right now.

They want to fck with us. SO BE IT.

We have the power of bots like them.

BUT WE HAVE MORE DRIVE.

I am TIRED of it.

Tired of the GAMES and MANIPULATION.

They want WAR.

Then let us GIVE THEM WAR.

Bitcoin is useless for transactions and will eventually be substituted by nationalized blockchain currencies. There's no value it offers over anything other than being the first.

https://www.foxla.com/news/torrance-man-sues-att-over-1-8-million-sim-swap-hack-allegedly-involving-company-employees

Guy invests life savings in cryptocurrency, presumably used SIM-based 2FA for some wallet, phone shows SIM is dead suddenly and guy suspects SIM swap hack and tries to get AT&T to prevent it. Allegedly the hackers according to logs obtained by feds (from Discord lol) paid off AT&T employees to stall prevention while swap was in progress and took control of his accounts.

Who tf uses Discord for disclosing hacking activities :neogaf Though probably less short-sighted than putting one's entire life savings in crypto that you've knowingly tied to a weak point.
