This thread has jumped the shark from being an amusing shit post feed to a thread monopolized by a few posters embodying the behavior of unironic goth kids slandering all the normies as they embody every single underlying characteristic they simultaneously deride.
I dunno, breaking that down...
- Do people seriously think the bore is better because people don't get banned? I think it's kind of a minor side aspect of the forum, not like the main point of the place. Some people have extolled the virtues of it but it also works because it's a smaller and slower forum. It's not gaf. If nobody got banned on gaf then every thread would be full with one person saying something controversial and starting a dogpile lasting 12 pages, I don't think they could self-police. That's not to say that gaf's moderation was any good either.
- "complete refusal to ever trust anyone on their word," that's just a consequence of believing everyone is sincere about the troll accusation and not just in it for the sparks. What does it matter what anyone thinks? Also how is that any different from reset where half the people posting there are doing so DISINGENUOUSLY or in BAD FAITH. You're not taking
them at their word.
- I don't think anyone at the bore thinks they're more righteous. That's kind of the point. No one cares who is more righteous, it's just chat and shooting the shit with a bunch of assfags. Laughing at something doesn't imply you really think you're superior in some way. It just means you thought it was funny.
Honestly Cream came here under the assumption that from the beginning it was a contest of some sort. Like the people here think they are the TRUE winners in the virtue race, this is the ideal way to build a community in opposition to theirs. That everyone thinks they're better than the people over there, rather than that everyone knows they're kind of fucked up but whatever let's pass out the popcorn and be fucked up together.
The problem is making everything a competition. An IDEOLOGICAL BATTLEGROUND where you prove your side is more right or virtuous. And some people here can be that way if they want, but I don't get that vibe from the majority of the posts.
