Why are we complaining about other forums when all is not well here?



If I may carepost for a little bit.

I don't understand the Junior (new?) Member hate. But that's neither here nor there.

The real problem I have is with the people that were upset with GAF originally, now doing a 180˚ in the GAF/ResetEra(?) thread, just because the mods reached out.

Last time I checked, it was the average poster that created the community atmosphere, not the mods or the admins. Yet, I was seeing many posts made that wouldn't look out of place on GAF. The blatant trolls were the only threads with level headed discourse. However, you can still see the cracks (this is coming from someone who has a RE account but never had a GAF one).

So it is part amusing part irritating that some posters feel that "things on RE are fine for me therefore no one else can complain about it". Completely absurd perspective to take on this issue. Sure, you can look at this post and call it a whinge and a moan, but I'd like to know exactly what the boundaries are.

First, Jupiter Ascending is a lot of fun. It's meant to be cheesy and campy as fuck but apparently people didn't get that. Second, Speed Racer is already a cult hit (i didn't really enjoy it myself but whatever) and Cloud Atlas was great for what it is (though it should've been a Netflix mini-movie).
