A lot of people on this forum seem AFRAID OF ANIMU, so here are my recommendations of QUALITY:

I dunno Kazuma got appropriately pissed in the fansub, shame the official one got rid of 'the flavor' whether or not he actually was saying that stuff haha.

Berserk has been recommended to me, I will check it out sometime this month probably.

This is where I'm supposed to say Bleach I suppose but nah.

Lets see:

As for movies akira is about all I've seen, its a classic for sure.

Hmm... I don't watch much but heres some I liked...

Hellsing Ultimate - the original series is good but flawed, this makes up for it tenfold. Pretty much the best vampire related anime imo. Only 2 OVA's out atm though.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (and 2nd GIG) - this show can be pretty good, I'm a sucker for futuristic stuff though.

Trigun - was a pretty good sci-fi/western mix, lots of comedy, a bit of a whiny main character but he had his reasons.

Ill think of more later..

I will not watch any anime - sorry, been burnt too many times. I only like two animated motion pictures of Japanese origin and the rest are fucking STUPID.

I always felt Trigun got a little 'too weird' near the end for me, but its still a really good show.

Hmm I thought some more about it....

Big O - probably my favorite mecha anime, its very awesome visually (done by Batman:TAS guys, same style) cool story, and a really shitty nonsensical ending. (biggest letdown EVER) Regardless I love this series.

Great Teacher Onizuka- This anime is really really Japanese, so I'm kind of "I dunnoz whats going on hurr" but It has some really funny moments. It can be pretty serious when it wants to be, lots of teacher/school related drama.

1. Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayel. Best anime. Bar none.

2. Cowboy Bebop. Best anime tv series. Bar none.

3. Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo. Amazing shit.

4. FLCL

5. Full Metal Alchemist

6. Mind Game. Probably my favorite animated movie. I suggest anyone and everyone to view it.

7. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

9. Grave of the Fireflies

10. Dragonball/Dragonball Z. Nostalgia reasons. Yeah, fuck you too.

i don't like anime in the least, but my ex-girlfriend wanted to watch it a few years ago, and after the third or fourth episode i found myself really compelled to see how it would all play out.
ended up buying the boxed set when we (inevitably) called it quits.
