Yeah, this was a surprise. I won't get to it anytime soon, but it's nice to know it's there. Maybe I should level a character in preparation...

I read you can start right in this expansion, so you don't need a character from the main game. Will probably pick it up myself. Still need to get to the Grim Dawn expansion at some point too...

One of my shames is that I never got into TQ and I like the diablo-genre (though not like some of the posters here who put hundreds of hours into them. I just go through the story once or maybe twice and move on). I tried TQ a couple of times but got bored early on in the first chapter and never finished. Jumped on Grim Dawn to give a more modern successor a shot and enjoyed that a good deal. So kinda excited to give TQ another shot now since I can just start at this expansion.

TQ has a pretty slow start, but it starts to pick up once you have two classes to play around with.

I tried booting up Grim Dawn again to see if I'm ready for some more TQ/GD-style stuff and  :'( these games are not easy to go back to 1-2 years later when you don't remember anything about your character and how to play them. I tried for like an hour to get back into my character and yeah I'd basically need to make a new character and start over at this point.

Luckily TQ's expansion lets you do that! So I may pick up Ragnorak, but I think I'll hold off on the GD expansion unless I want to make a new GD character...

Anyone play through Ragnorak yet? I just wonder how "modern" it is because after Diablo 3 & Grim Dawn I'm a little worried some of the older interface/quality of life stuff won't jive with me.

I... No, I mustn't. I still have to put more time into PoE, and after that I will replay some Torchlight 2 in mourning. Also, I really need to get my yearly PSO fix.

Titian quest is hella fun as well, though. Will be keeping an eye on this. Hopefully  I can wedge this into my busy self-imposed loot game schedule.

Good time for ARPGs. The death of D3 revived the genre

Nostalgia is a helluva drug in the gaming world, Borys

Currently PoE>D3>Grim Dawn>>>>>>>>Titan Quest. It hasn't aged well.

Titan Quest dropped during an ARPG deadzone. Diablo 2 was 7 years old, Path of Exile was still 5 years away, even Torchlight wouldn't come out for another 2 years.

How long is PoE? I checked howlongtobeat and it says TQ/GD/D3/T2 are like 20-40 hours to go through all the Acts once.

PoE says 300+ hours...

Like because it's a F2P, is it a grind-fest with no end or something? I'm down to play PoE since I enjoy the genre and you all are saying it's top-tier, but not interested in a 100 hour long ass loot game just to content-tourist it through all the acts.

It's about 20-30 hours to go through all 10 acts.

It's about as long as you want it to be if you're into its progresision and loot though. I have thousands of hours in that game...

There's a new patch coming out on Dec 8th, so if you want to try, jump into the Abyss temp league (like D2 ladders) that starts at the same time. Most people come back every few months for these temp leagues, play a couple characters, then play something else until the next one.

I bought OG Titan Quest on like Direct2Drive (along with Mask of the Betrayer) and there was never a way to transfer it to Steam so its probably lost to me forever.
