The first one I played. At a friend's house nonetheless, where I couldn't admit that the game actually scared me quite a bit as a 9 or 10 yo.

Then I played the shit out of one of the gazillion ports as a teen.

I love the idea of the Resident Evil games, and I love the atmosphere of the early ones.

Never really got into the series though (due to the design) and just ended up running around a bit in 1,2 and Nemeis. Only one I finished is 4 on Wii.

Tried playing remake on Cube and PS4 but god damn the backtracking drove me nuts.

They never said it has RE4 cam. Although it's a possibility, and a worrying one. I say that while RE4 is one of my personal GOATs. But I want REmake 2 to follow REmake cause it's probably the only chance at a real fixed camera survival horror game coming out in this day and age.

I agree. I don't know where I got it had RE4 cam. I saw some pics recently and assumed it was from the remake. Don't know where I saw em.

It doesn't need to be completely fixed, just not like RE4. Preferably like Dino Crisis or Code Veronica, i.e. dynamic backgrounds.

There's a fan remake of RE2 that uses a third person RE4 style view.  Maybe that's what you remember?

They still haven't said anything about this remake, but it is supposedly still in development.

i hope they don't go the ff7r route and completely change everything up. the reason these old ps1 games got so big was because more than anything else they had great gameplay. devs shouldn't run from that just because it's not what's in now. kind of defeats the whole point of a remake anyways.

I didn't really like the two runs for the "full story" gimmick, but I can't lie in that doing that changed up the scenario a bit with the Tyrant drop. Something the Outbreak File #2, Darkside Chronicles, Umbrella Chronicles, Umbrella Corps didn't really do with their renditions of the Raccoon Police Department. I'm hoping the remake keeps the tank controls and backgrounds a la REmake.

Real Talk though: If Capcom had any sense (which they don't) and had the money (which they don't because of their numerous screws up listening to Inafune) we'd get an Outbreak File #3 with the full city as a Sandbox for the scenarios. That's been my dream ever since 2-3: Having the full city to survive in/explore and get out of before the nuke happens.

I haven't gotten around to Revelations 2. I bought it a year or two ago but it's been sitting in my backlog. I think I'll get around to it in like March. It and 7 are the only ones I'm missing so far. But the first Revelations wasn't that great. Like, it would've been fine if the enemies weren't entirely bullet-sponges, but I blame that on the 3DS more than anything.

Raid mode did nothing for me, though. I prefer the Mercenaries completely. (3 or 4-5-6 style)
