Thinking about putting in around 2k in stock as its not doing anything in my savings account.

Was thinking of getting Tesla, FB, Disney, Apple.

Amazon, which increased its value by 50% in the past year.

And is also traded at a P/E over 300. Seems fucking risky in light of impending trade wars.
I'm not sure now is the best time to dive into the stock market, especially not in companies with extreme P/E valuations.

That said, i've got plenty of money in a bunch of canadian weedstocks with similar P/E ratios. The rest is in stocks with high dividends, because that feels a lot safer. I'm 50% cash though.

I made thousands of dollars from Brexit.  Lots of cheap stock that day and it was obvious that it was going to recover.  Pretty rare to find easy wins like that but when they do present themselves

I wouldn't recommend Tesla or Amazon since they're way over-valued. Disney has always performed like shit even when the rest of the market goes up. My picks would be Nvidea, Paypal, Lam Research, Red Hat, and Ali Baba.

I mainly pay attention to tech stocks but also financial companies like DFS are doing decently. I don't follow them much so I can't give you much of a recommendation. How long are you planning to keep the stock?

I've got some underperforming stuff based on my wife's purse fetish. Other than that, I had some neat stuff; bought Apple after the first dot-bomb. Sold it to make the downpayment on my house. If I'd held onto it another four years, I could've paid cash for the house.
