The post I got banned for is a direct response to an attack by another user.
That user doesn't even get a warning. My response to him gets a 1 day ban. In what ridiculous world does the response to an attack get actioned while the attack itself doesn't?
Whoever issued that ban is completely incompetent at their job.
You're in a thread full of protected-class posters. Skelepuzzle is in 5th place for top action-replies. Any thread with a high concentration of those posters is effectively a honey pot ban thread, intentionally or not.
Sounds like you could use a ban for false equivalencies, though.
Hm, the ban site says hes only been banned twice, but he has quite a history and I remember seeing more bans on him in the WC threads.
If you can spot missing data I'll happily review it and manually run a job to capture it. Reminder that stale threads before mid April have never been scanned.
I can 100% confirm that the most awful of resetera members actually organize "report raid" on discord. It's ridiculous beyond a point, but it's real. It's a thing for the black community on resetera and the media creates sales thread. Can't say much about the rest, but I'm sure it's the same.
It gives moderation an excuse to ban people because of "mass outrage".
You have also the common tactic in some controversial thread. You have people having a "reasonable" discussion and you'll have some pro-LGBT or pro-Nintendo extremist coming throwing hot cakes left and right to trigger reaction and make discussion go south and get the discussion shut off or thread closed. It's an intended tactic.
Those hot-takers are of course protected by admins.
