The redesign is an attempt by the ResetERA admins  to break the insularity of many hangout communities (even a few posters in the feedback thread mentioned that they dont bother posting anywhere else than in a hangout community thread).

People shouldn't be spending all their time in the ROCK BAND thread and only the ROCK BAND thread as if the ROCK BAND COMMUNITY is somehow different from the total community, they should be out, frolicking amongst the rest of the users. What are they going to do? Start their own forum?

I'm seeing more and more REEE members mention the discords on the forum. It seems like they're all talking on Discord and only those that can't afford microphones or don't dare to speak up (as it would confirm they're not black or girls) post on the actual boards.

The Discords have been where they've been offsite organizing for a while. That's where we found out that we were at war and had to play it tactical. The reason they always talk about how there's all these sinister dens of people who are organizing off site to do terrible things like post bad faith opinions on ERA is because they're constantly doing that communicating and organizing and tracking off site, but instead for good-faith reasons.

It's been noted a number of times, from multiple unconnected sources, that one of the so-called transGAF/ERA discords is basically nothing but this in reality. Including who needs to be targeted for bans, how to play it tactically and so on.

Some people were discussing the jokes, some found it problematic because they thought it made of immagrants, others found it ok becaue they thought it made fun of corprate culture that pretends to care about immagrants. Some nice healthy discussion, there wasn’t any massive outrage over it.

To this day I have not seen anyone upset about that trailer. The only upset people I saw were people upset about how "sjws" were totally gonna freak out about this joke. Its outrage culture at its finest.

My tweet was one of the couple that Sargon and others decided to spotlight. My twitter account was targeted by Gamergate losers for a couple of days. I still get a few replies on it every day. I still think the two jokes were in poor taste. I still see a distinction between the anti-corporate jokes in the first game and the jokes in the trailer, and I'm waiting to see what the final game actually looks like. I'm still looking forward to Doom Eternal.

It's been a frustrating experience but I'm not going to be humiliated or embarrassed. It was a hot take I wrote while watching the conference, it was a bit hyperbolic but the inverse reaction from the right kind of plays my point up, if you ask me. I love Shaun a lot and I'm interested to see his take on this (about 5 minutes into the video currently but just wanted to poke my head in first as this affected me a great deal).

Sorry to hear that. You obviously did nothing wrong though so you should be able to agree with Shaun overall and laugh at how desperate people like Sargon are now.

Hearing the montage of all the videos reading my tweet out cracked me up for sure, as humiliating as the whole thing has been. Most of the discussions with friends about the topic ran between Shaun's take and my own, and I still don't know which will end up ringing truest in the end. But obviously they'd rather screencap my initial gut reaction and spin a narrative over it.

It's funny. Half the harassment I've received since being the lovely feature of a certain Sargon of Akkad video has insisted there are no politics involved and I should kill myself for thinking it so, while the other half insist that I'm right, the politics are there, and it's GREAT NEWS! Intentional or not, they released a trailer that Gamergate and co are VERY comfy with, and have been celebrating.

This honestly reminds me of all the "Buttgate" buffoonery before Overwatch was released. A single poster in Blizzard's forum mentioned how Tracer doing a sexy pose seemed OOC for her, he got dog-piled on by other posters for even bringing it up, the devs stepped in and mentioned the original poster did bring in a legitimate point and like clockwork BOOM all the "SJWs are whining about butts and changing Overwatch!" stuff emerged.
