The fact that rhe community won't change is actually part of the problem. Gaming side has effectively pushed politics out of its side, and it's a large part of why the gaming community and the etc are radically different. Moderation not changing is part of the problem, too. The banning/warning system they have has shown to be ineffective and generally just leads to little slaps on the wrist that deters no one and just allows those with problematic views to stay and fester until a situation arises where it explodes, further driving the two communities apart.With the amount of people coming in here alone celebrating they will no longer have to see politics in entertainment it's incredibly obvious what's happened in gaming will happen in Entertainment. And it's basically by design, intentional or otherwise

On the surface, I don't notice anything different. But the hacker has now created a direct URL to the incriminating evidence, and calls the cops.So many other ways as well... It could be planting something in your email account, hard drive, USB drive, etc.How would you prove your innocence, except to show how easily it could be done?
That stuff will be N/A if you step away from your computer for a #2 bathroom break without locking your screen. Someone could just plant something on your hard drive, or change up something in one of your online accounts that you've already checked "Remember me" before.

By minimalizing and containing these issues/news stories/etc., this in a very subtle/implicit way says that the flood of political discourse and topics are not things that we want the majority/whole of the community to engage with, only those users who make it their special interests. So we are going to limit them to an easily avoidable third section that is listed last in all locations where it is presented to the user. I, personally, think this is absolutely awful as someone who is very concerned about all the things happening in the world.

It's awful. It's not just that the result is bad- two ambiguously divided forums, cluttered with a confusing mix of OTs and news threads. It's the way they decided to do it, giving the community no warning about this massive change, no opportunity for feedback, etc. It certainly makes it look like they just don't give a shit what the community thinks of the change. Do they value our opinions, or are we just a click farm?
