Those of us from rural south know how to handle toilet paper shortage. Eat more corn on the cob! The corn isn't important, but the cobs are free and work great! (Just don't flush them!) You're welcome!

WTf are you even referring to? What is “racial theory”? The poster was accusing the other guy of talking about racial purity not espousing the idea of it. Other than that Obama does in fact consider himself a black man, somehow pointing that out relates to Hitler and some vague unnamed racial theory? You just referring to the concept of races existing?

It would also be an act of discarding the excesses of whiteness via the transitory destruction of alt right symbology--literally throwing their racist milk at/in the trash. But this was CHOCOLATE milk and all of us here are slick enough to know what really means
First of all complaining about immigrants is not a good look. And you live in Germany. A country where aFD, a neo Nazi party, is one of the most popular in your country. The racist nature of German society isn't theoretical. There is a lot of racism and hostility towards many immigrants in Germany.I would say to the OP to stop complaining about immigrants, stop blaming the victims of racism to be on the look out for racism and perhaps blame the pervasiveness of racism in European culture, something that does not seem to bother you at all. Its always suspect when people only care about the reaction to racism and never the racism itself, or how minorities have to exist in a suffocatingly racist society.

I don't really post too often on Reset or other message boards, and sadly my gaming time is limited...but I am fairly active in the local retro game community. And I have never once heard any discussion about 'gamergate' or what have you outside of Reset (still to this day, I'm not sure what it is nor do I think the majority of people I'd ask around at a local gaming convention). It could be that I'm a bit older than the average Reset member, and am more interested in playing/reading up about the more niche games I'm into than I am about the latest outrage of the day. Of course, if asked, I'd consider myself a 'gamer' (since what else would you call someone who would willingly wear a Zuntata shirt in public, learned how to code via ZZT and RPG Maker, and blows so much money on retro games) - same as I'd call myself a "music lover" (as it's the other big media hobby I consume being interested in DJing as well) or "foodie" or whatnot - and wasn't really aware there were so many negative connotations beyond "he must have no life because he sits around playing games all day".

Maybe if you spent some time out in the real world (or even just some time chilling and enjoying games on their own merits) instead of the internet echo chamber, you'll realize stuff like IGN plagarizing reviews or big western AAA game nickel-and-diming isn't really all that a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Sorry if you find my attitude dismissive and flippant though, that wasn't my intention.

What's that have to do with you calling Gamergate the outrage of the day?I can tell you that in the real world harassing women is a pretty big deal.
And here we have the classic "spend time in the real world" deflection which instead accuses the other person of being "out of touch" no matter what in an attempt to place moral superiority over the other without actually refuting their points. Also, you still haven't actually answered her questions and choose to dismiss them outright.

But I was saying based on my anecdotal experience that most people I know in the local gaming community are unaware of it. Harassing women is obviously despicable in both the real and virtual world, and I'm lucky that my gaming groups tend to (mostly) be well adjusted adults who know better.

Good day to you all. You're not talking with crazy people, you're just posting on a forum that leans very heavily to one side and you're outnumbered. I have loads of mates who play video games as their main hobby and we wouldn't cringe or think too much about someone using the the word 'gamer'. I'm from the UK.Gaming is a young hobby after all, and it definitely went through its awkward teenage phase. Now it's fully mainsteam I think people want to distance themselves from the 'gamer' tag, that people adopted back in the days when it was an unpopular hobby and has become associated with some toxic behaviour. I'll still say I'm a gamer though, because saying 'someone who plays video games' is just irritatingly long winded, and using that in day to day conversation comes across like you're waiting for the opportunity to explain your thought process or start a debate. That in itself is cringey as fuck.
