Next gen of consoles will be very interesting if its the start of streaming. Microsoft has Azure, Nintendo is off doing their own thing. And now Google and maybe Amazon are getting in to the game. Sony's Ponyboy Playstation brand is going to end up at the bottom of a very large pile.
My prediction is that streaming will bomb as hard as the 'TV TV TV TV TV' push did.
Connections and bandwith just aren't there yet. It will increase the market for those that play it smart (Microsoft) but others will crash and burn.
Not to mention a game like Fortnite or Minecraft doesn't need a lot of power. So if your device can run a streaming service it can run those games anyway.
Singleplayer games like RDR2 are not exactly the type of games that you stream for a couple of minutes on your smartphone screen.
Netflix had the luxury of little competition. This very small space will be very crowded right from the get go.
