There are left-wing gamers dominating news websites and podcasts, there are right-wing gamers dominating YouTube and Reddit, and they are soft-locked into a cold war with one another. It can seem as if there’s no intellectual spectrum, only the political extremes: right-wing trolls on the one end, lofty leftists in opposition.
It's good when people jump in when it's just though, and with cases framed like this one was way more often than not that "mob" gets it completely right.
I didn't use the word "justice" once, actually. Go back and check.

Why wouldn't East Asians be considered people of color?Normally they would, but they're considered a majority in games like Street Fighter & Tekken. I'd be writing a whole thesis paper on those two games alone, plus there'd be some debate on it being unfair to other games.

Huh. Why wouldn't East Asians be considered people of color?
We're going to ignore the amount of public hits made in the industry and the amount of figures in the industry that are/were actively involved in gangs. I mean there were entire tracks dedicated to claiming hits over petty shit since as late as Love Sosa.

I get the anti-“happy family decal” trend but this seems excessive.
https://www.resetera.com/threads/has-my-chemical-romace-been-compared-to-queen.82181/Ok, the forum has to be overrun with trolls.
My Chemical Romance is better than Queen and more influential.
Twenty One Pilots are influenced by My Chemical Romance and they're the biggest band in the world.
How are they not? What other band can release an album of new material now and outsell their first week sales?Only one I can think of is Metallica but even with that Metallica had an 8 year gap so it created more hype.
Biggest band.
Not in terms of album sales. Their latest album didn't even reach 100k first week.In terms of hits I'd say it's Maroon 5. They are somehow still considered a band even though I'm pretty sure it's just Adam Levine with pop production.
First week album sales. That's what I believe matters most in terms of relevance. Sure there may be bands making more money off their back catalogs but how many of the fans are there for the first week of a new album? That's what I believe should really count.
I guess you're out of the loop then.
Not really, their latest album was quite critically acclaimed and they've shown a lot of growth and maturity.
I think you are confusing good songs and singles. My Chemical Romance has tons of good songs.
Yes. In terms of first week album sales they are easily top five. Probably first or second. Trying to think what I'm forgetting. So far it's them, Metallica and Coldplay.
They are popular in terms of making hit records. They don't seem quite as popular in terms of having a hardcore devoted fanbase.
They did five sold out shows in Columbus in one week at different venues to end their last tour. You already dismissed them in your last post so I find it hard to believe you would be aware of their relevance.
The only reason it wouldn't touch anything in Queen's discography is because it by far exceeds all of it.
Yeah but how much of that 40 million is just three or four songs? Their latest album released earlier this month with just 91k first week sales.

I just got the alert from the Minnesota Star Tribune. Kind of a shitty headline too:http://www.startribune.com/young-mc...500940452/?om_rid=2600700361&om_mid=133704137"Young McDonald's patrons in Eden Prairie allege man pulled gun after he was shoved"
And so it begins.Yes I'm sure the man that flashed his gun at the Muslim teens didn't have a good reason for being shoved. But, it's good that the police are investigating "whether a crime" has occurred. And it's probably assault.
Damn, now the media wants to slander the kids.Haha this country

Weird, I always assumed Black Americans weren't big fans of lynch mobs.I'll have to bow to redmercurys expertise.

Agreed. Another thing that doesn't add up:Some places footage is erased after some time. Assuming there's no footage because it's already erased, WHY would Avenatti wait until now to ask for the footage?
I'm a lawyer. I had a hit and run two months ago at a gas station on my brand new car. I imediatelly asked for the gas station footage and with that, I was able to find out who did it. It's basic thinking for something like that.
Because if he's innocent, he'd like to see the footage since he was sent to prison and him and his legal team knew fully well what he was been booked for.No. This is the report that sent him to jail five days ago, the story just came out because it has become public, but Avenatti knew about that because that would be there on the Police report, the reason why he was sent to jail and had to pay a hefty bail to get out. It's my understand that Avenatti and his legal team that paid his bail would know about the Police report, am I mistaken? Because if even TMZ had access to it, how his legal team would not? Aren't reports filed right afterwards?
Because she filed a report to the LAPD and that's the reason he went to jail last Wednesday. Yes, he wasn't charged, but he was booked. The LAPD saw the injuries and decided to act. It's my understanding that that report is done in the same day, so the accused can know why he was been booked for. Correct me if I'm wrong here. How the police can book him and set a bail without giving him a run down of what he's been accused of since day one? I know that I don't know how the judicial system works in California but this seems crazy to me. Once you are sent to jail and you have to pay a bail that hefty, you must know what you are being accused of.
Yep, same here. I wasn't that confident before yesterday, but now I'm all in.Well, in any civilized country, he should. Another fact: if he wants camera footage from the hallway, something happened in the hallway. If the hallway is some sort of evidence that helps him, why hasn't he asked that evidence right afterwards? My point is, if they don't get footage because they are erased after two days, that's on Avenatti.
CNN is reporting as well, including statement of his defense, which is fucking bullshit:Source: https://edition.cnn.com/2018/11/20/politics/avenatti-actress-restraining-order/index.html?utm_source=twCNN&utm_medium=social&utm_content=2018-11-20T22:23:50&utm_term=imageThe classic "woman is crazy" defense. Ugh.
People here are trying to take credit of the victim left and right. I've been around many cases like this one to get a proper feeling when I can start to form my judgement. Wohl chiming in raises suspect to the victim's legitimacy, but Avenatti feeding the flames with that instagram feed story is him trying to push a narrative. Read the CNN article I've posted above: Avenatti saw her the other day when the cops got there and sent him to prison. He knew fully well that she didn't have visible bruises on her face, and yet, he tried to create a narrative that she didn't have any visible bruises on her face to help his case.Of course that he has the right to due process, but this is the court of public opinion and I've read enough about this to start forming my own judgement about this. I was hesitant at first because there wasn't enough information avaliable, now that we have a clearer picture, I can see how he was trying to manipulate social media against her and that's fucked up and shady. Not just that, amateur hour of the highest order.
People who use prison and jail interchangeably
After the news with the face of the accuser showed up yesterday on Blastr, Avenatti went nuts and erratic on twitter. First, he stopped posting, then, his ex-wife posted this and proceeded to send these screen caps to literally everyone talking about Avenatti on twitter:Which led to a The Hill article countaining a video that claimed that his accuser had no visible bruises and basically hinting she was lying about the fight. Then he posts this:The thing is, 1) As most of us know, Instagram story feeds aren't necessarily taken in the same day, 2) You can tell from the screen cap that this is actually his accuser resharing the instagram feed of her friend with her and 3) Avenatti knew fully well that there weren't bruises on her face, since he saw her at their apartment when the cops took him in.Basically, he was trying to push a narrative to discredit the victim, and as a "defender of women's rights" and literally simply just a fucking attorney, he should have know better.Because it'd be the right thing to do. It's not that hard.
Man RedMercury wants to be the White Savior for all those poor POC who just can't help themselves, bless their hearts.
