I've wanted to play Splatoon since the Wii U, but insisting your multiplayer game never goes on sale and having archaic ideas of how to handle multiplayer has always turned me off. What I really don't get are people who insist some really dumb ideas, like having Nintendo choose 3 maps/modes for you depending on the time of day or limiting voice chat, are great because they help "competitive pro scene".Like, are we suppose to pretend that every other competitive shooter doesn't exist, and that companies are pumping millions into sponsorships?Does Splatoon even have a real competitive scene, or at least one to warrant their multiplayer experience being the equivalent of a child on a leash?
Yes, we 100% are.Anyone saying otherwise is either just ignorant or doesn't want to accept it. It won't look anything like the first civil war, but we're definitely building to a new civil war event or period of time where violence will be used to suppress those against the government. It's the final stage of the current right wing takeover we're part of and once there's a competent fascist regime it's inevitable. I would say within the next 20 years.

Eh, you can laugh at me all you want. Most people do, as evidented by this thread and the others, but the final stages of a coup is rarely gentle. Writing is on the wall.

The Clive Bundy standoff is what should be seen as a big warning. What will likely happen eventually is a group of people will carry out an attack or cause a standoff, and the authorities won’t stop them or will be extremely slow in responding. Could be a group in the military, police officers, or right wingers.I think that is very likely. Right now if you are a young right-winger, why would you want to do anything else than become a police officer? If that becomes a trend, it could have huge implications in a decade. It would spill over in the whole justice system.People are significantly underestimating this problem.
The trend nowadays seems to suggest that if large countries like the US collapse, it might do so relatively peacefully — states might secede without all our war breaking out (though it’ll probably hit the economy hard)
Well, at least is not Bronx Man that gleefully admited that Fire and Fury could be the first book he was gonna read after graduating high school.

Yes, I'm one of those people who have never seen Titanic. After years of expectations and hearing it talked about and seeing video essays mention the movie and pop culture references, I finally have seen it and Titanic hold up incredibly well. Aside from the younger actors, I never would have imagined that this movie is over 20 years old. I guess that's a testament to how expertly Cameron combined grand practical sets with excellent CGI.I had always heard Titanic described as a love story, so I was expecting the first half to be kind of sappy and maudlin, but it really wasn't. Jack and Rose's relationship is really well done; yes, it's happens way too fast, but it's made compelling by the social stratas of the ship, the side characters and especially Paxton's detestable antagonist. I never found the movie boring or dull, you almost forget that this is a movie set on the Titanic and the looming fate. And then the iceberg shows up.It's almost kind of a cinematic jump scare, how suddenly Cameron drops the iceberg in mid-movie and the tone of the movie shifts. Suddenly, it's this tense disaster thriller with huge spectacle as the more intimate action and escape involving Jack and Rose happens among the larger chaos, all brought to tangible terrifying life by the still-amazing on-set and CGI effects.I've seen a lot of disaster movies, and so many try to use the "protagonists and their family in danger" focus to give the chaos a human touch, like the fact that simply having a character with loved ones is all that's needed for the audience to care. But none have done it better or more genuinely than Titanic. Titanic could have simply been a big budget disaster blockbuster (and it probably would have worked given how great the action is) but that first hour/90 minutes of drama is what elevates it to something more and makes the infamous chaos that much more affecting and intimate. My only real gripe is that the framing device felt pretty unnecessary, and only distracted from the central plot when it would cut away.
It’s one of those things where I look back on it (released when I was in 5th grade) and it seems like the only reason people shit all over it is toxic masculinity.I had to spend YEARS pretending that My Heart Will Go On isn’t a great song.
Watched it for the first time about 8-10 years ago, and I also thoroughly enjoyed it. Gets a lot of undue vitriol for being a blockbuster movie heavily featuring romance, a genre unfairly and misogynistically derided for its female audience.
The only thing that doesn’t hold up is the backlash.

Lost my job thanks to this forum lol
You're the guy who came on here bad mouthing his company and boss, mentioning them specifically by name. People told you to delete the posts, but you didn't because you said you didn't care. Then someone tweeted pictures of the thread to your boss.I guess you care now?

I read a lot of conservative forums to try and get a full scope on the political arena and a lot of conservatives seem to be calling for a civil war or hell even fantasizing shooting liberals. I'm honestly concerned something may actually happen with how often it has been coming up as of late.Do you think there is an actual concern here?
]Feedback: The logo change is really stupid and encourages stupid hyperbolic fan behavior in the community. There's no reason for a general gaming forum with a diverse community with different interests to go all in and make the logo about a big game release. At best it feels like free (or secretly paid?!) stealth marketing, at worst it feels like a bunch of desperate fanboys in the administration team getting ahead of themselves. I'm sure neither of this is true, but I think it's bad perception and honestly stupid.

A few hours ago the resetera logo had the r replaced with Kratos' axe but now it's gone.
